About Carolyn Gibson About Carolyn Gibson

Carolyn Gibson is serious about weight loss - acknowledging that losing 28 kilos over 25 years ago gave her the confidence to change her life.

In 1984 Carolyn established her successful Weigh In Slimming Clubs with the belief that learning to monitor portions while eating delicious, easy to make recipes would provide a platform for permanent weight loss.

She continues to personally teach in the classes each week.

In 1992 the Kiwi KISS Postal Slimming Club was founded to provide support for members outside the Auckland area. The postal club has helped many hundreds of women and men to successfully lose weight through corresponding on a one-to-one basis with Carolyn herself.

Over the years many long-term friendships have developed as the topics of conversation each week developed into wider areas of discussion. As Carolyn says, "it might be an old-fashioned term today but my club members became my 'pen-pals'."

Today Carolyn is the author of nine diet and cook books, published by Penguin Books and is the originator of Kiwi KISS. Her first book, The Kiwi KISS Diet, published in 1992 was a multi-week Number One bestseller.

Carolyn is a graduate of Auckland University, with a double major in Psychology and Education, winning the Senior Education Prize in two consecutive years.

With over 23 years of experience in weight loss Carolyn has gained national recognition as an expert in her field, a motivational speaker and an educator of healthy cooking. She has appeared regularly as a guest chef on the Good Morning Show and as a keynote speaker at many corporate conferences.

Carolyn is married with one daughter Victoria, a qualified Personal Trainer, with whom she has co-authored The Kiwi KISS Workout book and Kiwi KISS All Seasons cookbook.

Carolyn Gibson

"I believe that before anyone can understand the challenges of weight loss, and to be able to give advice, they must have first been overweight themselves. It is easy to give advice, following text book principles, when you don't have to put them into action yourself. I won't be advising you to do anything that I don't do myself."
