Your welcome Jill, I know it is often hard to get our other halves to change their habits.
My own hubby needs to lose quite a bit of weight, but I can't make him, and since he loves his takeaways I have to wait until he is ready to do it himself.
Sometimes it is not enough to know why, and it takes a lot of effort to change a habit.

Hiya all, Lynda - No I don't know Carolyn but I've got family in New Zealand and that's how I heard about the diet. You can buy the books over here on amazon and a few other sites which is how I'm following the plan at the moment. Must be really useful to actually go to the classes though.

It is also really useful to do the online program as Caroline sends you an email everyday to help you out.
I can't do classes either, but did do the online plan for a while, and it was great.

The online program sounds really good actually. It's something I might think about in terms of helping me with maintenance. I think that's where my biggest problem is gonna be.... Better get saving

Howdy ladies, weekend over.
Libby I think we are all so pleased and amazed at your wonderful weight loss so now we get to be concerned at how you move on from the "losing" weight to "maintaining" your weight. Maybe even 4 weeks on the on-line programme would help you tremendously. Even only having one of your weekly indulgences would be a start and maybe make it something that you won't "lose control" of. I am just trying to rack my little brain of an example. But if you have a book, you know the choices. Carolyn is not fond of "low fat" products or food replacements. Low fat products often have higher calories as they put other stuff in to make them taste better. Her motto is to eat the full product and enjoy it in the amount you are allowed.
Anyway, I hope you think seriously about slowly putting all your daily allowances in and those 4 weekly ones. They are important. Keep us posted.
I am having a stressful arvo so better go and do some more damage control.....

Pressed wrong button and have to start again. No didn't weight, was totally stressed and upset and couldn't face going back out or even getting out of mychair!!! Had a run in with daughter over the stupidest tiniest little jokey thing and wham - obviously it wasn't a joke to her!!! I felt terrible at how what I said upset her and the repercussions are way out of proportion!!! I gave myself such a splitting headache and it is still there. Left my rescue remedy at home today too, not that it seemed to be helping much!! I upset myself totally this time last week too with stuff with my husband and got that sorted but then I find out by accident yesterday that I was right that something was going on (not with other woman or anything, but buying expensive stuff, oh okay, another bl..y brand new motorbike - BMW at that with all the bells and whistles) with absolutely no reference to me. I am wondering what "great deal" blah blah that he is going to come up with this one - its happened at least 3 times before. The first one he "won in a raffle" - oh der - I am blonde but... (well gray now but the hairdresser makes it blonde)... You know the stupid thing, if he just said he wanted it and talked to me about it, I might do a slight moan but I wouldn't say no!!! Its the sneaking around and thinking hes being so bl...y oops, swearing, bad sign.... clever and smart. Men...Lots of time he's fantastic. But his cars and motorbikes are always an issue and because of the sneaking around... you'd think after 26 and a 1/2 years of marriage he'd get that wouldn't you. But I guess you get the behaviour you let them give you. The thing is, on Thursday when the first headache started I confronted him witht he fact that I knew something was going on and I didn't know what it was, but now..... Oh, I am so stupid!!!! Its the only area that we have conflict. Oh, I will have to think about what the consequences might be this time. I'm such a wimp!

LYNDA! SLAP! SLAP! Stop beating yourself up so much. Ok I can understand why you didn't go get a weighin. We all go through these sorts of things from time to time, and it is good to vent and get it out of your system. BUT it is not good to put yourself down in the process. Now take your darling daughter some flowers and give her a hug, got your self a helmet and demand a ride on the new toy, and tell hubby next time you want in on the decision making. All right that is all I am going to say cause I am way too tired to think of anything else Just look forward to a nice big weighin next week.

Cool its a start, and don't mention it. If I remember correctly you are one who needs a good slapping from time to time - I mean that in the nicest possible way of course. Anyway nice to know I lifted your spirits a bit. Should have been here the day I got both my gummies stuck in the mud holding a temporary barrier for a cow, who took it on herself to give it a big push. I went straight backwards being unable to move my feet and then couldn't get back up again. Took hubby all of 5 minutes to stop laughing at me before he could help me up Luckily mud is soft,

to you KM. I laughed at your "you are one that needs a good slap" - don't tell my husband that - he might like to do that from time to time!!! Wish I had been there when you got your gumboots stuck! I remember being in Oz a few years ago and we were sitting on a deck and I was talking and laughing and then suddenly I was on the ground below - his friends thought he pushed me - but it worked out that I was laughing so much that when I leaned back the cheap plastic chair broke and I went over backwards. it was pretty funny at the time, hurt like crazy and took quite some time to fix it all, but I do have a warped sense of humour like that - I would be like your husband laughing too much tohelp. Have been pretty good. Still going over stuff in my head which is giving me a kind of "background headache" - if you know what I mean! I internalise too much. Have a good weekend and thanks for the slapping!

Oh you are awful Lynda, fancy laughing at me Anyway we went to the homeschool group yesterday and although it was nice to have a break, all I did was sit around and eat My friend has a new toy, and vita mix. Yes one of those big expensive jobbies, and is still in the thrill of using it all the time. So while I was there we got homemade humus and homemade ice cream. Now she is a health food nut, but the humus was so good and we used on our french bread rolls, with avocado, lettuce tomato and feta. Followed by muffins and then she decided to make the ice cream, because another lady there had never had it. So too much healthy stuff left me over full. For dinner I had homemade fish and chips and coleslaw, followed by fruit salad so that was not bad except that I wasn't hungry at all. I did try a new sauce for the fruit salad though and it as really good. I it made with fresh dates(normally I hate dates), and I was really surprised at how nice it was. I'm going to try to modify it today to use some of the frozen plums I have.

Whats a vita mix. There are so many blenders and whizzes around these days. I bought a new one a couple (well it must be over 4 years ago) as I was making home made vege soup for a really sick friend - it was all he was eating. Once he died I couldn't bare to use it again as I would just cry thinking of him everytime I started using it. Lame I know. I still can't use it. I use my old one. Will sell it. I only used it for about 3 weeks before he passed away. So so sad!
Also sad will be my weigh in tonight. But if I don't go........

A vita mix is an industrial strength blender, but because of the stronger motor it does a much better job. Good luck on you weighin, yes you need to go to get you back on track. Had all cousins kids here since her hubby had his first radiotherapy session this morning, feels like all I did was cook and clean up, and that means lots of food to eat too. Still most of the food was all good and healthy if you don't count the three cookies this afternoon.
