Hi Lynda, I looked at the rice salad recipe but having a husband who does not want to eat rice ruled that one out..and coconut flavour isnt too popular here unless its in baking Did a non slimming recipe last night of stuffed hogget flap and that was really nice even if totally unsuitable for the waistline....will make the apple date and banana loaf tonight and see how that goes down... Other than strawberries no veg planted here as yet..too many frosts! Do have some broccoli and spinach growing...otherwise gardens do look sad Just finished planting a few calla lillies, never grown them before so will be interesting... Hope everyones having a good day...

Good morning ladies. We have been having major internet problems which is why you haven't heard from me in so long. At the moment we are on a temporary dial up connection and it is so slow that I often get frustrated before I am finished, so please bear with me. It is good that you have both been keeping the boards going, always nice to have something to come here for. I have to admit that with being able to check in here I have not been so good on the food front , still today is another day so maybe this one will be better. I have been sowing seeds for the garden, but haven't done much in the way of planting out as yet. Actually while I was away from the computer, we got a chicken dome built and functioning so I have some busy little chickens doing alot of the work for me at the moment. The cow finally calved and now I am busy teaching her that she will be more comfortable if she will give up some milk to us. She is such a good mother that she wants to keep every drop for her baby, who of course at this age can't possible drink that much. Still we will get there in the end. I am so sick of mud, we are warm but we have had so much rain that we just about have to swim through the paddocks. Mind you it is looking like a sunny morning so all is not lost. Well catch you later, if I can get on.

I so sympathise with the internet connection problems..we have times lately when everything goes so slowly I just give up as well...and although I dont have the glorious mud to enjoy it is soft underfoot..husband mows lawns and has had the ride on stuck twice lately...at least the grass is growing so we are thankful for that. I would like a few hens but have a feeling the dogs would too. Very blustery where we are today but at least its not raining..all going well should fit in a walk this afternoon.

Oh wow, tis nice to have someone to talk to I had a bad weigh in this week bought on by a terrible pigfest Friday arvo, Saturday and I did stop a bit on Sunday. Went up 1.6. Deserved every gram. Have moved on and have been very good all week. The curried sausages we made this week were yum, except they had beef snags in them. But everything else delicious. I have been having a lot of salmon the last couple of weeks. Make that fettucini with the mascapone cheese and put salmon in as the rest of the protein. Dylan loves it too. I fixed myself up some for lunch today and left it behind on the table. Dog likes it too just as well!!! Might have salmon and rice crackers again. I love the new packaging of the sakata rice crackers they sure keep the crackers super fresh. Oh, small things keep me happy!!! Its a sunny day from where I am sitting right now, however there was a bitter wind when I was out in the playgruond with Dylan at daycare. Thunder and lightening was pretty impressive last night. Glad it stopped before I went to bed and didn't wake my boy. The dog of course was another matter - he hid in behind the bath - which isn't exactly supposed to be possible. Fortunately I knew he'd gone into the bathroom and I had to grab and pull to get him back out!! Hope the diet is going along for you both/all!! I wonder if "Night Nurse" has been off to India yet? I love watching those Intrepid Journeys on TV at present, but wish they had more detail - like each one should be over a two week period!

Well Lynda you do very well talking to yourself, it is quite impressive really. What a shame about the pigfeast you were doing so well too. Still we all have those moments and I for one will be the last person to point the finger. At least you are back on track now. I have friends who are going down a health food kick and they gave me some buckwheat sprouts to try. I normally eat pretty well with lots of healthy stuff anyway, but I had never had buckwheat. I had it with my breakfast this morning and it was OK, certainly not unpleasant but maybe not an everyday food like they are having. Actually yesterday and so far today I have been very good. Maybe a bit too much fruit, but if I am going to over eat in anything fruit is better than cookies right. It is a beautiful day today so I have been out in the garden this morning, and will be transplanting some of my vege seedlings into bigger pots this afternoon. It is still too wet here to plant them out, but that could change soon. Our Daisy has the sweetest milk I have ever tasted, it is almost like someone has put sugar in it. It is so good. I just have to remember not to drink too much of it.

Wow KM, are you mocking me about talking to myself again my family do that at home. I will have you know that I am back to what I was last Friday morning before the pigfest!!! I write to my friend who I think I talked about that blew me away when she told me she was an alcoholic... well I keep her regaled with all sorts of things by mail still and she thinks I should write a book - haha. I wouldn't know where to start and probably as I was writing for a "reason" and not just for a laugh with her, it wouldn't be the same!! However... back to "us"... I have dinner out tomorrow night and I ama not a drinker by any standards but the house we are going to, well they just keep pouring me drinks and I usually end up having a couple of glasses of bubbles - but I am a cheap drunk!! Then she tells me today we are buying in take aways. I have to think about how to handle that. They are big eaters so much watch myself and there are always nibbles around like chips, nuts, cheeses and breads - I will have to keep away from those chairs!! I think I can do it. I thought about not going but decided we have been too much of home bodies the last few months, its not that I don't like going out, its just in winter I like staying home!!! Haha. Anyway, better go and tidy up my desk. Have made a whole in quite a few messy things here in the office this week so that feels good. My boy is at his dads and other grandparents for the weekend (he goes Friday to Monday) so I will not be able to use him as an excuse not to do cleaning - drat!!! Be good and remember we are supposed to be going "down" oops, "losing weight" so lets set that goal for the weekend!! Haha... who made me boss huh? Au revoir (oh, this time 4 years ago we were in HOlland, oops The Netherlands staying with husbands cousin before we joined our 31 day Europe tour. Now that was great for the diet. I lost weight!!! I will do so again..

No No No I am not mocking you at all.
Good that your weight has dropped again, and good luck on your night out.
Hubby just weighed himself and he has lost 1.6 since my birthday, so that is a good thing for him. Me I am not brave enough to get on the scales again just yet, but I did do some lawns today. The bulk of them were on the ride on, but one section and the edges I did with the hand mower, so I am counting that as exercise.

Hey KM, good that your husband is down. Even sitting out on the ride on keeps youaway from the food, so that is good. I actually went for a couple of walks on the weekend and was going to go Sunday morning but just couldn't get out of bed.
Dinner wasn't horrific. We had a few choices so I had two slices pizza. I did have two glasses of bubbles, well didn't drink allt he second one as I could feel my flushed cheeks too much and husband was mocking me!!! Haha. I switched back to iced water. I did have a small slice of raspberry cheese cake someone had made. Unfortunately I did nibble a bit during the making of the mousse and other baking I did Sat morning, but I wasn't too bad. certianly not like last week.
Well our pergola got blown away last night!! I think normally the roses keep it together but not this time. It was so windy!
Daughter just came in to see if I would do lunch with her. I said I'd do lunch with her inthe lunchroom here as its weigh in and I don't go out on MOndays. I am having 3 eggs and toast. That didn't appeal to her so she decided she'd go and deliver her assignment and just go home. She is only about 4 mins up the road so realy she had a long time to kill before she met Dylan at 2.45 at Plunket with his other nana!! It was only 11.30. I think she has been home all weekend doing her assignment and just wanted to get out.

Hmm Lynda you and I seem to be in the same boat at the moment, really good some of the time and lots of little cheats. I was even thinking that maybe I should go back on the online program so that I would get the daily Caroline growling. Probably thats what I need but I just can't spare the dollars right now. Hubby is off for a few days next week so it will be a struggle not to gain then, but after he goes back to work I will have to work a bit harder at staying on track. Maybe I should get the books out a gain and do the recipe a day thing again, that worked well for me. I know what you mean about the wind, hubby was out in the middle of the night retying the cover on the chicken dome, he was so worried that the dome would fly away and then we would have flying chickens

Oh by the way, I only had 2 eggs!!! Maybe we could go back to telling what we are having each day. That worked quite well. Maybe start a new topic "food for the day" or something. I always found it good to hear what others are having. Maybe I should go back and print off my "Diet works" one when I lost 2.6 kilos!!! I think I could have got to just over 2 kilos if I hadn't gone to dinner on Saturday and had to make desserts. But, I put the food in, its my problem!!
I am having (after weighin) left over chicken satay tonight - its the yog, chilli sauce peanut butter. We had it last night.
Off home. Yahoooooo. Speak to morrow

Hmm Lynda, probably good that you clarified that one. I was trying to figure out where it said we could have so many eggs in one go. Actually Caroline growls if you have more than one for breakfast, but we won't tell.
Good idea about the food, I have put on some weight, but I have also started to lose it again. I am just not down to where I was is all.
Once again you have had a loss at your weighin, way to go, you are an inspiration about how it pays to just pick yourself up and continue on.

Hi, was down officially 1.8 last night so that was getting rid of the 1.6 I put on last week and 200 grams extra. Thank goodness. I am the lowest I am now that I have been for, um, probably 3 1/2 years!!! I shall continue to go down.... if you all keep at me. thanks to you all
