Well, its the 1st of December And I need to remember Xmas is not far away And I must try to stay on "the diet" until the day So that goodies can be had And I don't end up feeling "bad" But alas this week, I have not stuck to plan And today I feel a bit like the Michellan man! But I am back making the best choices once more As, to do so can be easy and no big chore So I shall just "DO THE DIET" It is really great - and like me, you too could try it! And watch the scales go down That will get rid of my frown. So off I go to plan my meals for the rest of the day Au revoir, Ciao Bella, see ya later ... is all I can say

Lynda do you have too much time on your hands, or are you just clever.
I was thinking about you this morning, and wondering if you thought you were going to make your 5K goal before christmas.
My big thing this month is I need to get off my butt and exercise more. I am making gift bags for christmas and it is keeping me sitting too much so more moving around is required.

Hi everyone I am back from my trip and finding it a little hard to get back into routine which got me down with a little frown until I read Lynda's poem and I am now sitting with a smile on my dial. Thank you.

Oh KM are you giving me a hard time I needed to do something different, so decided to rhyme My woes in hope that I would disguise That I'd been not so good as I didn't want to lie But thought it might distract you clever ladies out there But its nice that you do still care And in a nutshell I have not been good but I am on track now - oops I did just "touch wood" And Jill don't you worry you are home again Maybe that will help you get back on plan! So don't you frown Just listen tothe "forum clown" Better choices thats all we need To get us up to speed o that we do lose a gram or two As that is what we are here to do. Alas KM my 5 kilo goal has been but a figment of my imagination HOWEVER, I shall apply much determination To do much better and made it seven But shift the dat to March 11 (Well really 22nd as thats my birthday) But I'm struggling now on how to say All this and still show you that I can be clever... Whats that I hear you say... "Whateva!!!!"
Haha, I guess its passable for a 5 minute ditty, thought you might think its a little sh....
Haha. DEFINITE NO with regards to the 5 k - but I think its about 3 kilos and I had a big gain this week - 1.3 - eek. Totally deserved!!! But working hard again (well if I keep telling myself I might believe it and do it!!) Hey, picked our first snowpeas and beans yesterday (mind I don't think the beans should have been separated from their mums yet!! Courgettes are producing, just, too! Heaps plums on the tree and hope they ripen soon. Glad to hear you out there KM. Hey Jill, get that smile and keep it on your dial!!! haha

Goodness you are getting creative.
We are getting our early plums now about two weeks early, so that is nice. It is good to have freshly picked fruit again, and we normally end up one type of plum or another throughout most of summer.
Raspberries have also started although only a few so far, so again all good.
I have a very busy weekend coming up starting tomorrow, so good luck until monday

Hey KM, I can't believe I missed the plums ripening!!! Took some for Carolyn last night. Our trees are laden. Like you I have plums now through to March really. They are delicious. Baby dylan loves to pick his own plums and eat them too.
Lost 800 last night, so that was good. Have sore throat, sneezing and runny nose. Took 1/2 hay fever tab this morning before the sneezing and nose started and can't take anymore of anything to keep it at bay till tonight now. Drat. I just want to curl up and sleep.
How's everyones weigh in this week???

Well done Lynda, on the loss and the plums Well I had a very social weekend with lots of eating and drinking. Between Friday and Monday I managed to put on 3kgs so not a good thing. The aim this week id to get rid of as much of it as possible. Luckily the weather is great, and the garden is in desperate need, so have been putting in some hard work. Unfortunately things keep interupting me so that is not so good, and now I have managed to get the back of my neck a bit sunburnt so not good either. On the bright side, on of our cows has finally had a date with the AI man, so not everything is bad. Oh and I have just received and email about the new book coming out soon, so that is exciting, who's going to get that one.

Hi there, lovely to see you and Yvonne around. Carolyn hopes to have some copies of the book at class tonight so I may be able to report tomorrow, though I did see Admin say there were all new recipes in the recipe section.
I have finally been to the Dr this morning as I have been up and down something shocking with my "bugs". I have bronchitis now and he was worried that my cough was extremely wheezy but we are going to see if it helps before we do anything else. He also gave me some "real sudafed" so that my knock it as well. It's very rare for me to lose my appetite but there were days in the last week where I had to force myself to have just the tiniest thing - lots of plums!! (Though they nearly all gone already.)
We have laden peach and nectarine tree this year. The nectarine has more on it than it has ever had before - I think we have had about 10-15 on it at most but this year its chokka!! Now all we need is to keep the birds away from them. the peach is bending on to the ground the branches are so laden. Same there, have to try and keep birds away! Any hints. The vege garden is now providing beans, sno peas, courgettes (marrow), silverbeet and possibly the first of the beetroot. Am waiting for the cucumber and peas.
Well must away. Glad to see you both around.

Lynda I have been know to hang CD's from the fruit tree branches to keep the birds away, don't know how well it works, but we do get some of everything. I have no problem with the birds getting some, as long as I get my share as well.
Sorry to hear you are feeling so bad, hope you recover soon. Wish I would lose my appetite for a short time, or maybe just at meal times. Might start making things I don't like much and see if that helps.
We are getting peas, lettuce, cucumber, radish, broccoli, cabbage, beetroot and silverbeet from the garden. Managed to pull out the zuccinni so had to start again on that one, and the tomatoes are starting to change colour so they won't be too long away. Oh and we have the first potatoes as well. Fruit, just plums, strawberries and raspberries for now, but it is a start.

HI KM, The book looks awesome. Did get it but felt terrible by the time the class was finishing!!! I got home last night so didn't really get into it. Its quite a different look to her previous books but there seems to be lots of menus and recipes in there. They are always handy to have. My understanding is that Carolyn wants us to do some lateral thinking with regards to meals etc. I know some people have problem swapping and changing things so I think she has sort of gone into this!!
I went down 500 so that was a good finish to the year.
I thought you would use blank CDs!!! I am not totally blonde - haha...

Thats good about the book, I am really looking forward to getting mine now. I have no trouble swapping things out so that should work well for me. Well done on your loss, 500gms is not to be sneezed at. Hubby has some cd's that I don't like much, so maybe I can "accidentally" use them this year.

Hi Ladies, writing in a rush as I slept in this morning! Received 'Fries with That' yesterday. For me its a nice fresh approach to the Middle Aged Spread Diet. No difference in portions or foods (let me know if I am wrong). Book is clearly set out and easy to read. As I have all Carolyn's books and have copied a big folder of recipes from the archives there where not too many new ones..shame...but I realise there are only so many new recipes one can make. I had no luck in getting onto www.weighinonline.com/fries-with-that for the printable material mentioned in the book. Perhaps I have written the name of the site incorrectly. Must away and start work, how I could oversleep by 45 minutes I dont know!
