Hi ladies,
started the day earlier than usual so have a little time to check out a site or two.  Was interested in Carolyns new book.  Has anyone read it yet?  Are the recipes different to what I use from the 'recipe section' of the control panel?  With three birthdays to buy for over the next few weeks and Christmas looming I dont want to buy it if it doesnt have new recipes.
Do hope its okay to ask this Embarrassed .....

Thanks in advance for any replies and wishing everyone a happy healthy Christmas and New Year,
Yvonne

I know what you mean Yvonne, I am toying with the idea of ordering it now, or waiting until I get to see it first. I don't have all the others, but I do have most of them so I don't know...what to do, what to do.

I have been busy at my sewing machine on the wet days(and we have had a lot of them),  and this week I am getting outside while the sun shines, except for today because I got too much sun yesterday Sad

Just had another heifer AIed, but other than that life is going on nice and uneventful. Yes

I've asked Carolyn about the recipes in her new Fries With That? book and she says:

Quote
All new recipes in the actual recipe section.
Couple of repeats in planners.
There may be some repeats in the online database.

I ordered mine yesterday, so when it arrives I can tell you what I think Smile

Hey admin, way to go on you loss, your ticker has moved quite a lot. I realised that we don't talk directly to you very often, so I thought I would let you know that I had noticed. Well done.

Well done!

I have just reset my ticker onto 0 and I am planning to hold my weight until the 26th, and then do some serious weight loss. I am looking forward to it actually, I don't like to be this big. No Way

Well I have now read the new book, and here is my opinion if anyone still wants to know.

I feel it rounds off alot of information about the Kiss plan, and Carolyns way of thinking about what is in our food is perfectly in keeping with what I think, so of course I agree with everything she says.

As for the recipes, well I don't go to classes, so alot of the recipes were new to me. There are several that are going on the top of my list to try after christmas Chef

So for me it was a good buy, I might even do the planner properly this time round.

Hi KM, Glad you got your book at last.
I haven't had a chance to finish mine yet, I think have only read about 7 pages!!!  I am pretty sure that most of the recipes are "new" and aren't from class!!  But I will have a closer look at that anyway.

Have a great Xmas.  Had to come into work today, but now I am off!!

Just making out a shopping list for the next two weeks (starting after Xmas) and am going to try some of the recipes I havent got...

beef and mushroom stroganoff, ginger teriyaki chicken, lemon chicken with pumpkin and beans (very basic that one doesnt really need a recipe Smile),
balsamic glazed leg of lamb (kind neighbour gave us a lamb the other day), layered rump steak with walnut stuffing (not sure how this will work), chicken tangine with apricots lemon and figs (no figs for daughter..I presume dried can be used?)

Will print off the apricot lamb patties from the archives and that should do for new things to try.  Tried to choose quick recipes that I didnt need to buy lots of ingredients for.  Would rather spend the time outside in the garden than in the kitchen at present..so there will be no desserts or baking!

Wishing everyone a happy weekend...
