 Howdy

Thought I'd take the plunge and finally post something after lurking for a while  Wink

Like all of you, I have weight to lose.  I'm trying really hard not to be daunted by the amount which is about 70kg, yes you read right, I've become the classic couch potato and I only have myself to blame  Embarrassed  I'm sick of declining invitations because I'm embarrassed to go out, I'm sick of walking short distances and being out of breath, so this is going to be my time and to help achieve my goal I have every intention of joining one of the meetings next week so I can get that extra support.  So with the meetings and the support of forum members, you just watch me shrink  Laugh

That's the girl swampy, and welcome.

You must be in Auckland. Caroline is wonderful at inspiring us to try that bit harder, so well done.

What day will your meetings be.

Thanks for the welcome.  Yes I am in Auckland and will probably look at going to one of the Wednesday classes.  So head held high, 5 days to go

What part of the country are you in?

We are up in Northland, so no classes for me I'm afraid.

You do know that now that you are here, we will all be expecting a full account of your meeting in Wednesday. Rest assured I will be checking on Thursday to see how you go. But no pressure, you know Wink

Anyway good luck for this week and please enjoy.

Oh what have I done, I've got a little Kiwismum sitting on my shoulder whispering "do it, do it"   Laugh Laugh but that's exactly what I need.  I had a little weigh this morning, with pleasing results, 900grams down from earlier in the week, so I'm looking forward to joining a class on Wednesday.

Well done on your loss so far. It is always good to have a starting base weight as it makes you feels so good when it starts to go down.

Gosh I wish I was little enough to sit on your shoulder, little is not anything that I have been called i a long while, so thank you for that.

A big welcome Swampy.
Kiwimum is very good at looking over our shoulders!!!
I go to a class to.  I used to go to Glenfield but the meeting I went to is no longer.  I now go to Don Buck Road as I am between the two really.

I have a weigh in tonight and have been really good this week so am expecting great things!

Us other forum ladies are here to moan at, to talk to, to offer advice (not that it needs to be heeded) and just to listen if thats what you want.  You can take what you want out of it and we just love having new ladies around.

We look forward to hearing you've been to that first scary meeting - remember, we all had to do it so don't feel bad.  Oh and really - they sure aren't scary at all.  Everyone is always really nice and encouraging!!

Hi Lynda

Which Glenfield meeting is no more?  Hope it's not the 5pm one.  Might have to phone to make sure

I'm not totally unfamiliar with the first meeting nerves  Yikes  I've been the new kid at Weight Watchers, Sureslim and Jenny Craig but it never gets any easier  Cry

I'm going to need help with my journey, it's going to be a long bumpy road but I think I'll be Ok I've got two new friends already Yes

Don't panic Swampy - its the 1pm meeting. I think the meeting time and places are on the home page.  Now the meetings did move from where they used to be for years (by the pool) but I am not quite sure where they are now - so PLEASE make sure you do as we don't want you getting put off the first time around!!!

I enjoy my friends here on line so please don't leave us!!!

I lost 1.3 last night - and next week when you weigh in for your second meeting I am sure you will be reporting pretty good stuff too!!!

That's a great loss Lynda, well done.

I spoke with Carolyn today, found out where and when so told her she might see me tomorrow but quickly corrected myself and said no you will see me tomorrow

Not looking forward to what her scales will tell me but at least it'll be the last time I see that figure.

My boss is doing Jenny Craig at the moment (not that she needs to mind you, skinny mini that she is) so I confided in her today and she's going to keep me motivated at work.  She's even suggested we go for a walk together in our lunch break, is she MAD....... Yes  But it's not something I've totally discounted, just let me lose a little first

Will report in tomorrow night, have a great day everyone

Now Swampy, so putting off what you know you should be doing.

I am all for taking baby steps so just a short walk at first, but if you have that support there, you should make the most of it.

Good on you swampy - ringing Carolyn is the next step so today you will be there with her. Yes
I can get where you are coming from with the walk at lunchtime with the boss - I usually walk alone just because friends that I have walked with walk so damn fast and I hate trying to keep up with them, and plus they talk to me and I get short of breath quite easily really - always did!!  It is good if you go, but if you don't maybe just start off slow by yourself. thats how i STARTED I walked 10 minutes from home and then back again.  I haven't done a real proper walk for awhile as its so muggy it needs to be done in the morning - I considered it on sunday morning while husband was snoring, but I jsut couldn't drag myself from bed!  I did get up early saturday and walk down and get his paper from the drive - not huge but still 1000 steps and uphill coming back!!

Good on you and we all look forward to hearing about you making it through the door.  Carolyn is fantastic and will be so supportive and welcoming - and so non threatening - so don't stress about it!

Have a great day.
