I went, I saw, I conquered W00t

Thanks for your thoughts Lynda.  Everything turned to $hite at work today and I didn't leave till after 5, but things are good, I went to the 630 class instead.  God I must mean business.

I arrived early, Carolyn was great and came straight over and knew who I was (from our little chat yesterday).  We had a chat about the programme so there's no stopping me now.

Had a chat about this forum as well, told her I'd been "adopted" by Kiwismum and Lynda.  For some reason she thinks you two ladies are pretty terrific and from the welcome I've had so far, I think she might be right Yes

I've adjusted my ticker, according to my weigh in, so you just watch this baby drop

Well, I'm off now to pick some salad greens from the garden, so I can make my lunch for tomorrow.  I'm sure I can rustle something up before I go and do my grocery shop

Hope you two ladies are having a good week

Talk soon Happy

Well done Swampy, what a great first meeting. You must feel so ready to stick to the program after your little chat with Caroline, she is such a positive inspiration.

Will be watching your ticker each week to see how you are going, good Luck.

Hey HUGE congratulations on getting to the meeting even after a hassled day at work.  Thats when I like it best!!!  Anything to get away.  I hate missing a class - it re focuses me on a weekly basis.

Cute ticker - i just can't work out how to do it!! haha. How slack is that!

Hope your day is going well - its lunchtime.  I am having leftover spag bol from last night.  My main lunch  at the moment (and I love this so don't go yuck like my best friend that I work with does) is a small tin of salmon and rice crackers - 20 rice crackers take a bit of eating - but I love them!  Its pretty quick and easy for work.  We have some of those little super toms in the garden so grab a few of those as I walk past every day to have when I feel like them!
this is a very quick and easy lunch and I don't have to think about it!!

Carolyn is lovely and such a huge help.  She toldme Kiwimum was great too and is amazing at basically growing and getting only "real" food!  Is this right KM

Keep up the momentum....

:w00t:My goodness what alot of talk about me behind my back. I didn't know I was so interesting. Laugh

Actually you are right, I like to eat as much "real" food as I can. So basically we produce as much as we can ourselves, so when you hear me talk about eating cookies, they are the home made jobbies.

We grow our own meat, veges and have a large home orchard as well. Here is our blog which we don't update all that often these days

http://www.dreamforthree.co.nz/

That is my life, hence the spending all morning in the kitchen making plum sauce, for all those yummy recipes in the winter, and this afternoon figuring out how to get some water onto our dying paddocks so that the cows don't starve Angry The rain seems to pass us by again Cry

Hey Ladies, hope your week has gone well

I'm nearly 2 days down and things are going pretty well Angel  At the moment I'm just working with what I have in the cupboards but I'm surprising myself with what I'm able to prepare.  Will do a good grocery shop over the weekend so I can stay focused over the next week.

Would you believe Lynda, I'd often have rice crackers and flavoured tuna for lunch so would never say yuk to your salmon and rice crackers  Hungry

Kiwismum, I envy your lifestyle Yes My dream is to have a small block of land.  Well my dream is to win a good powerball, so I don't have to worry about money, then get my block of land, then become a "foster parent" for the SPCA.  It's been another scorcher day here, with no rain clouds in sight so I hope it rains for you and your animals soon soon.

Hope you have a great long weekend

Thats the beauty of this plan swampy, it just uses ordinary every day food so no having to go out and buy special food to stay on plan Wink

Our lifestyle is sometimes very hard work, and sometimes we wonder why we do it, but at the end of the day we wouldn't trade it for anything, it is the good life to the max. Yes

Hi ladies.
Now I don't want to upset you Swampy but if you hearCarolyn talk at class you will hear soon enough - shw worries about the flavoured tunas and salmons as they are not "one piece" of salmon but sort of minced up and she thinks its all the "rubbish" mixed in together.  I used to use the chilli salmon for awhile but now if I want that I add a bit of myown chilli sauce, but in all honesty I just prefer it plain - I think I added the chilli sauce to tuna as I didn't much like the taste!!

I have had a pretty good weekend in all respects.  I was very pleased with my food intake and I did a shop from my shopping list!!  Possibly because I was short of cash and I as I hate going to the supermarket I tend to go as little as possible so when I do I buy absolutely everything and often spend $3-400!!  but I came out with under $150 on Sunday and ws very proud of myself! All good stuff too.

What was that goal we set KM for my birthday??
Oh, my daughter is 21 on the 25ht March 3 days after me and she has themed her party black and white - I am not a great "black" person - does nothing for me, but I thought this morning - haha I could wear my wedding dress - however not sure it would fit and I don't think I have quite enought time to make it into it!!!

4 kgs Lynda, see I remember.

You could go to the party as a ghost Confused

How often do you go shopping, Like you I hate going to the stupidmarket, so only do it once a month now, ans spend between $300-$400 each time. Seems to keep us in most things that way, and I only have to buy afew bananas etc in between.

Evening Ladies

All's good on the swampy-front.  Carolyn touched on the flavoured fish Lynda, only saying that the flavouring is unnecessary calories.

I'm quite impressed that I've managed a whole week without having to go to the stupidmarket.  Working with what I've got in the cupboards, I've had a pretty good week, by no means perfect but pretty good all the same.  First weigh-in tomorrow, bit anxious and excited mixed together

A friend and I are going to start walking after work at the Domain (Auckland Museum).  She's lost about 22kg with Jenny Craig so weight-wise she's beating me but I'll catch her up eventually Yes

Hope you both are having a good week.  Will report back tomorrow night

Good luck tonight Swampy.  You are going to lose 22kg too and it won't cost you $2200 either (minimum) for your food like your friend!!
I tried it and I liked it but you know what _ i just couldn't be bothered cooking for myself or thinking what I wanted for a long time. And I love cooking!!
You stick with us.  Good on you going walking.  I have been so slack in the exercise aread.  My ankle is playing up aquite a bit, I think I better get some
physio.  It woke me on sunday morning at 4am it hurt so bad.  I had to get up and spray some magic spray on it - thankfully it works fast. Its called Zen.

Anyway, am still having a good week.

I like the stupidmarket term!!!  I could live out of freezer and cupboards for awhile but lately I try not to there unless I have to.  Need to call intoday as
need to get nappies for dylan but there isn't much else I need so should be a quick in and out visit!
Look forward to your results Swampy ....

W00t It's time to brag, sorry ladies but I've had a brilliant start to my weight loss with a 2.8kg loss in my first week.  I'm so happy W00t

You're right Lynda, my weight loss won't cost me nearly as much as my friend and I'm surrounded by much nicer people as well.  My friend was telling me at the weekend how she "got told off" at her weigh in on Saturday.  Why? because she had a 300gram loss and her consultant told her she should be losing at least 1kg.  I got really annoyed and told her to that 300grams is a great loss and that at this stage of her journey, she can't surely expect the big losses (she's only got about another 10kg to go I'd say).  I remember my doctor telling me that 500grams a week is a good sustainable loss and he's not wrong.

Well best go and have some dinner before I fade away  Laugh (if only)

Well done Swampy, there you have the proof that the plan works and for this week you get to wear the crown Queen

Your poor friend, she must find it really hard to keep going back it the do that even when she does lose. Perhaps you should invite her to have a chat here and see if we can't boost her up a bit.

EmbarrassedNot so good this week, I had a gain and not just a little one either, it was a whole 900grams.  Although I'm mightily disappointed in myself, I'm am proud that I went to the meeting.  All day I was battling the little demon sitting on my shoulder saying "Don't go, go next week, you'll be right" but I can't start doing that because that'll be my demise.

So it's head down, bum up and this week I'm sorting my s--t out Yes

Hope you ladies are going well.
