Has been a lovely day here too Lynda.  Promises to be a darn cold night though.  Might get our first serious frost tomorrow morning.   What exactly is the 'coconut milk with beef and lamb'?  Not sure my fussy lot would like coconut milk.  Made Toad in the Hole tonight  from a Scottish website and that went down well..not sure it was very weight friendly but only ate a small portion. Smile
Wishing everyone a great weekend.

Hi Ladies

Thought I would drop by after checking this weeks recipe to find out how life is treating you all.  Spent this week putting my dahlia tubers in the ground bit early but needs must... Laugh

Have had a few frosts but some nice days as well.  Hope everyone is well. Smile

Hi Ladies,

I have been sitting here in a reflective mood..just thinking, wondering how others where getting on, with the chilly weather sometimes its hard to imagine pursuing weight loss, much nicer to snuggle up by the fire with a good book and some of those not quite so good for us snacks Smile

I have decided its well worth the challenge, sticking it out through the not so good times, the times when you wonder why on earth you are bothering!  You just want to put food changes in the too hard basket and move on to easier things.

Well, last week I became thankful that a few years ago I started walking, eating using recipes from sites like this and managing to loose about 25 kilos.
My reason for being thankful was a two hour surgery last week that saw me recovering quickly and home just as quickly.  I doubt this would have been quite such a fast painless recovery if I hadnt lost my weight and helped myself by coming a little fitter.

Its worth the effort so just wanted to say to anyone who is in doubt keep up the effort, you will win in the end and its very worthwhile.

Oh my goodness preaching isnt really my thing and I hope this doesnt come across in the wrong way Smile  Just wanted to offer a little encouragement to anyone who needs it.  Going now to check the recipes before I embarrass myself further Laugh

Hi Yvonne, I am glad that your recovery went so well. Your positive attitude will also help in that department as well. Keep up the good work.

Nice to have a spring like day here for a change. one of the gardens has even been weeded. I have been a little distracted with members of the family who have been quite unwell. I think I am the only healthy one Confused

Anyway I have checked on here from time to time, but have been very short of time.

We will hopefully have some cute little lambs later this month, with a bit of luck all will go well with that, and hopefully spring will hit early and we can have some grass growing.

Hi Yvonne, glad to hear that you are recovering well after your surgery.  I have had a lot of missed classes lately with family birthdays - really started back at Queens birthday weekend and think I have only been to about 3 classes since then. The last of the Monday birthdays are 16th when its Mums and grandsons and then its totally back on track.

i can proudly report that husband and I went to Napier for 4 days which was great (another Monday) and I did not once look at a dessert menu in all the times we ate out!!! That is a milestone for me. I often look but don't have anything, but I didn't even look this time. Huge achievement Angel
I did go on a wine tour one arvo and I am a two mouthful wonder when it comes to alcohol, oh okay, only one mouthful.  I did find some dessert wines I rather liked and I did have a glass on Saturday with husband and son.  I so enjoyed it.  But its a rare occasion for me to have alcohol. Just never found much I liked - thank goodness.

anyway, I did well whilst away but had a bit of a blowout Friday arvo and Sat.  But back quickly.  Can't wait to get back to class.

Hey KM hope you are well and don't catch anything from everyone else.

Hi Lynda,
well done your your restraint with the dessert menu and the wine..both, specially the wine may have been my downfall Smile
Another nice morning here, have six different coloured tulips out so far...they do look so nice.  I noticed some lambs on a walk one day, Pit Island Lambs, black and white which changes to brown as they age..very cute!

Just tried to copy the Daily Tick chart out of Fries with That with little success.  Third attempt was sort of okay but lines are very faint...do you know if there is any where we can download a copy?  I would prefer the tick chart rather than the daily planner.  Sitting around for the best part of three months is going to drive me nuts so may as well track my food while I vegetate Smile

Hi KM, how are you?  Well I hope.

Hey Yvonne how are you going with your recovery.

I can remember when I had to sit around for four months, it almost drove me round the bend. I couldn't be weight bearing at all so even walking quietly around the house was out of the question.

Hope you are not going to  crazy.

Weathers is not so great I guess you are not wishing you could get out into the garden today.

Hi Kiwismum,
nice to hear from you.  Recovery is uneventful and boring!!!  Just about to start on my fifth book.  No stretching, digging, walking, ..on the plus side no house work so have family doing that Smile
Am cooking simple meals and feeding dogs who are wondering why they arent getting their usual walks...but best to go slow with these things and heal properly.
Weather is unpredictabe..sunny one day grey and damp the next...spring bulbs are slowly blooming...would so like to get out and play in the dirt and pull weeds etc!
Oh my, four months!  Poor you..least I can do five minute walks (how does anyone only walk for five minutes?) and in total should only be three months.
Hope all is well with you.
Hi Lynda, how are you and the rest of the family?  Do hope all is okay.

Hi there, family well.
My lil boy was 3 on Monday. Daughter made an awesome cake - made out of fondant she did penguin, whale, nemo and whale mouth.  It looked so cool - was one big cake and then another cut into two smaller round cakes and put them at one side on top of each other and then made a waterfall of icing and edible pearls and fish icing things like hundred and thousands!! it looked so cool.  If I knew how to send a picture here, I would!!
Just plodding along. Back to Kiss on Monday. Haven't weighed myself for over a week but am aware there has been bits of cake sneaking in so shall give myself a fright and weigh tomorrow!!!
Look after yourselves.
If you go on Facebook and to Mindjolt there are some great games on there. I love crystal golf solitaire - but am not that great but get a bit hooked on them!! haha. see its my addictive personality - better games than food though!!!
Hey you could write a Xmas email ready for all your friends.
Um, you could sit on your bed and clean out your draws, same in the the kitchen.
Um, nah, too boring!!! I'd be reading too. used to knit heaps and love sewing and have to go home and fix daughters ball gown for the weekend... eek

That cake  does sound grand Lynda.  Was watching a cake decorating programme on Sky recently and it was truly amazing what could be done.
Glad to hear all the family is now well.
Dont lead an interesting enough life to have xmas emails Cry   And tidying drawers, good idea but...really am a bit of a lazy cow Im afraid Smile
Oh yes, computer games can get addictive...they become bit of a contest here, the only ones Im good at are the word games....daughters best on the skill ones..faster fingers and brain than me Smile  Husbands the one with the patience and doesnt mind the repittion of some..boring...
Hope you get a nice surprise on Monday when you weigh, I am doing the chicken kumera stir fry tonight, quick, easy, not too much standing..and hopefully will keep all todays food in balance.
