Sorry to be shouting out the obvious, but as a long time struggler with my weight it's really the answer. Kiwi Kiss certainly has worked for me and many more - is it really that simple? Well not all the time especially for me, life tends to get in the way. As a people pleaser I put myself at the bottom of the "things to do list" I give the kids the breast meat from the chicken and eat the more fatty wings & legs, I run around after the family taking them to sport etc without taking the time to fit in some exercise for myself. This year though I am making an effort to "do the damm diet" as I realise that when I feel good my family feels good. They also benefit from sensible eating and portion control as much as I do. Kiwi Kiss eating is doable and the recipes are easy and delicious, with great results. Hears to reaching my goal weight and keeping it forever! Sue

Great attitude Sue, and you are so right..just a pity life gets in the way at times Took me years to shed my twenty seven ks but am maintaining pretty well now..in a perfect world would push myself to get rid of the last few kilos but... It is easy to put everyone elses needs first..doesnt matter if they are family member or pets they often get first dibs on our energy and time. I started this year well intending to really get rid of the last little bit but this month for some reason have been ...shall we just say tempted by too many things Would love to hear how you cope with the pressures of family and life so hope you have time to share your progress.

Thanks for your encouragement Yvonne. I have been lurking the forum on and off from the beginning, but never had the courage to write - silly really I know! But for me the process of actually writing down the reasons for yo-yoing with my weight isn't easy. this year though I thought I would "put on my big girl panties and deal with it" (that's a quote I saw on a cross-sitch yesterday) and thought it is appropriate. I am at the wonderful stage in my life where I'm feeling that I am beginning menopause? Whatever that will be? and my two children are hitting puberty. Challenges ahead! I picked up a piece of art on Holiday (ceramic puzzle) with the words - Gratitude Attitude Happiness My husband wondered why I brought this and where am I going to put it, at this stage I don't know but I want to embrace these words this year and hold on to them in many parts of my life, but relating them to The Kiwi Kiss Diet, I am grateful to Carolyn for her on going passion for weight loss, and the commitment she has to providing the tools to for success. I am working at getting the right attitude towards my body. I am looking forward to the happiness I will feel when after 30 years of on off dieting I will achieve my goal and hold on to it.
I am embracing the happiness that is a result of the weight loss and way it makes me feel.

Hi Sue, Its a hot hot afternoon here so good reason to have a coffee and check out the computer before going out to tend to some gardening. Had to smile at your 'never had the courage to write' with me its I dont have anything to say As you say challenges for you ahead, two teenage children and entering a new phase of your life for you. I so believe attitude plays a major part in how we tackle things. Sometimes you just have to grit your teeth and get through the bad patches...not always easy..my two kids are now in their 30s so have left teenage years behind them...menopause..cant say that meant anything to me..was lucky enough not to experience problems some have... I read something recently to the effect that - it doesnt matter what your legs look like as long as you can walk on them..and your arms even if not a perfect shape if they do what you ask then you can be thankful - must admit that stopped me thinking now if I did more exercise my upper arms would be SO much better With Carolyns help I am sure you will conquer all weight problems , the recipes are good, easy to follow, and as I work to a budget not hard to find economical ones. I left Carolyns pay for programme a few years ago, what I need is a pay for maintenance programme but dont think there is such a thing So, am hoping talking on the forum this year, trying hard to select appropriate foods and recipes and keeping up my ten thousand steps a day will see the last of my few kilos gone. Shall be looking forward to hear how your weigh ins go..I try and weigh Monday mornings...and my pedometer is my best piece of exercise equipment (along with my dogs and my shoes ) kitchen scales are the most important piece of kitchen equipment for me ...staying away from wine and chocolate is the hardest thing, if only I could ban them from the house! Keep postive, hope you are enjoying your weekend, off now to weed some gardens ...

Welcome Sue. No need to be afraid to write here, we are all in the same boat. We love to hear your success stories, and can encourage each other when we don't do so well (that would be me most of the time at the moment) Yvonne you had better be careful you have to be classed as a regular again. You seem to be keeping things well afloat here. I have to admit I do allow myself chocolate night once a week. I just have to remember not to eat a whole weeks worth at one go Sue you and I must be around the same age, and at the same stage. I have found that it does have a bearing on my weight loss, I now have to work at it, when before it would just slip off no problem. Just have to move more I think. Have a good weekend

I think it is a matter of perception. If no food is a bad food then portion control is easier. If you eat a bit of chocolate and then feel guilty, you are more likely to say to yourself, "oh well I may as well eat the whole lot now". But if you give yourself permission to eat x amount on such and such a day then it is easier to stop. You also get to make an allowance with your other meals so that you don't need to be over the top calorie wise. So often on wednesdays, I will make spaghetti for the fussies. Only rather than eating the pasta myself I will lightly steam some grated zucchinni and put my sauce on that. I then have a carb free meal that is very low calorie, so can allow myself some chocolate. Just wish my butt would understand this a bit more and shrink down.

Dont really have too many guilt feelings after over indulging..perhaps a small twinge Was different when I was still in the process of losing big time...now I can just about walk or work off the excess (I hope) Have you tried spaghetti squash? I love that instead of pasta. We grew some last year and just hope there will be some this year. My question of the day is...what happens to do with the loose skin after weight loss? Doesnt shrink. You cant build up muscle on some parts of the body to fill it in (tummy area for example). Perhaps eat to fill it out? Plastic surgery isnt an option so guess just gotta keep those clothes on If any one has an answer would love to hear it...

Yes I normally grow spaghetti squash but I didn't this year so that one will have to wait for another year now. Hmm loose skin, if you have ever watch that show about that really fat guy who lost weight and then went looking for a date, what was it. hmm can't remember. Anyway he had that problem and it was handled with surgery. That is probably your extra 5KG right there in your skin If you get a better answer please let me know.

Hi Everyone..........I am an old Kisser from way back :-) beginning in the early/mid-1990's and am back again for the LAST go. I know this works and we eat KISS type food as our normal diet but like others here I have read about, the old "lose a kg every week" has gone with the wind and the smooth skin. I lost heart with my ability to do this on my own as the weight goes so sloooooowwwwwwlllllyyyy and I start to think I must be doing soemthing wrong....talk about having no faith! Then of course it becomes let's just eat dumb stuff and the hell with it! Anyone??? Grin. That is me. Good to be here. Cheers! But not with too much wine!!!

Hi Nanski, Yes that is me, I know I shouldn't eat it, but somehow it manages to find its way into my mouth. And once it is there well....
Anyway welcome to the group.

Hi Nanski, nice to meet you Yes it is a very emotional time at present, didnt help to have to say goodbye to our old dog last week, I was there when she was born and we had her for nearly 17 years.. Have also started a small part time job late afternoon so from now on meals will be streamlined, intend to rely on the crockpot and the non stick fry pan for quick meals..should work out. I see Easter eggs are already out in the shops..thank goodness I rarely go to town just love those creme filled ones Hope everyones having a good week food plan wise

Yvonne, sorry to hear about your dog. It is always a hard time when we must say goodbye to a dear friend. My thoughts are with you.
Haven't had any urge to have easter eggs yet, lets hope it stays that way.

Hi Yvonne.......it is so hard to say goodbye to a loved pet. I am sad for you. As a fan of cooking shows :-) that show how fast a meal can be cooked I find that KISS is fantastic for easy, streamlined meals, so now that you have your job and are thinking ahead you will be fine.
I am doind it and accepting that I am no longer able to lose the "kilo a week" that was so "easy" when I was "young"!!!! Mind you I dont feel as if I am on a "diet".
As for Easter eggs.....sigh. I used to allow myself one creme egg each year......homemade Hot Cross Buns...now that is another story....Step AWAY from the kitchen, nanski!
