Hi Jill, that cake sounds rather nice..I wont ask for the recipe cause I could possibly eat most of it all by myself!
Know what you mean about the icecream...I have rather indulged this week on the chocolate icecream I bought for my daughter...must stick to my own small individual ones!

I started at nearly 85 ks, down to 57 now...according to the weight around the waistline I could shed a little more..husband just spent a month testing his blood daily to see if or not he was diabetic (no, hes not) and after reading all the info he bought home the fat around the waist still puts me at risk...will have to work on that (I say that daily).

Oh yes, I think about food constantly.  I like to cook so during the week try and use as many recipes from either the kiwi kiss or weight watchers cookbooks as possible..I try and exercise portion control (you will note I say try)...

When I get a little over my not to be gone over weight (at present 58 is my limit) I weigh food and track daily.  I never want to go back to the way I was, being short size 20 or 22 clothes may have fitted around the body but where always too wide across the shoulders etc and I looked and felt terrible!  Joints ached during winter.  Other bits rubbed and where sore during summer.  Horrible years...

So yes, cooking during the week for three of us I do think about food, luckily I like planning menus and plan for a 2 week shop when I do go to the supermarket.  I think once you achieve your goal its so good to be there you can stay there...

As you get older I think health issues make you more aware of the importance of losing and maintaining a reasonable weight.

Hope your daughters birthday is a happy one...nice sunny Saturday here, shame about the chilly breeze.

Would you believe it darling daughter came home from birthday weekend with all the cakes and pudding PLUS extra lollies etc. which she kindly offered to us to eat.  AAAHHHH

What I haven't managed to throw out or freeze I have hidden in the depths of the pantry but not before having gained a few kilos. DRAT

So today I am trying very hard, doing the food diary( which i dislike alot) and keeping busy.

I followed your example on the weekend when i knew we would be working outside all day and would want take away when we were really tired.  I prepared veg etc in the morning so it was all ready to go at the end of the day.  We enjoyed an wonderful healthy meal.

I would just like to reach a place where I don't think about what should be "somethimes food" as "oh boy I'm missing out".

Well just got to get through the rest of the day.   THINK POSITIVE  i will feel great at the end of the day!

Hi Jill and everyone........I am not sure if many of us ever reach the place when we find out about "sometimes food".  KISS gives us sometimes food...it is just trying to figure out that "sometimes" isn't all the time   Yes  I am having a bad patch myself right now,   Troll  but I am determined to remove myself from the patch!

Anyway, hang in there....what a positive thing you did to get your meal ready ahead of time.  Great idea.

As Carolyn says lunch isn't far away....same day even!!!!

Cheers!

Morning all

I had a strange weekend after my daughter took us all to all you can eat pizza parlour.  What is a girl to do.

I ate one slice over my "I'm full" mark.  But luckily I was not hungry for the rest of the day and only had a small leftover meal for dinner.

Don't whether that is a good thing or a bad thing.          it just is what it is.

So, main meals have been planned for the week.  Weekend is a dinner part for six.  Looking for an entree,  anyone got any ideas?

Cheers

Dear Yvonne

Please don't worry about not being around.  We all have days, weeks, months where everything including the dog seem to have there way with our routines.   Doctors seem to be our one at the moment.  Nagging me about all those routine things you have to get done that apparently I was supposed to do 6 months ago!

As for entrees,  I think nibbles will do.  We really aren't the dinner party kind, so I say be true to ourselves and let nibbles rule the day!!!Life's to short to be so detailed when you are with friends.   Sorry to waffle on.  Sometimes it's easier to talk to yourself when you are talking to others.

Hope all is well with your dog. Will talk with you when you have time.

Keep smiling
Jill
