Ok so that was yesterday.

I am hopefully coming to the end of my really busy time. I only have one cow and two ewes left to drop there babies. I am bottle feeding three little lambs, but they are no longer on three hourly feeds (thank goodness)

We have our new puppy, she is not almost 10 weeks a little fluffy golden retriever and so incredibly cute.

Food has been whatever, whenever I can manage it, as it always is at this time of year, and the garden is behind so I will have to work on that and get my spring seeds in.

Will try to updaye more often now.

Oh and Jill nice to see you back.

Lovely idea for a new page or two, KM, we need a new springlike feeling.... Agree.....been a few lovely days here and we seem to have missed the storms.  I am back on track after  the trip to granchild gaze (oh they are wonderful  Yes ) and a bad cold and the big freeze and some hiccups on the home front...after gaining I lost 500 today and I feel IN CHARGE again.

On the wing Laugh

Great going Nan, it is always good to get that back in control feeling.

I will have to weigh in next week and then see how I am. I don't think I have been over eating, but who knows.

Last night we had a dinner at Miss fussies St John Youth group. The kids cooked a meal for the parents as part of their Home Economics badge. Nibbles and dips, Stir Fry, rice and coleslaw and Apple crumble with ice cream and fruit salad.

We couldn't not eat it since it was for the badge. Miss Fussie has been practicing making stir fry so we have had that quite a bit leading up to the big day.

Birthday party tomorrow, not quite sure how I am going to queeze everything in.

Tuis abound in local trees which is wonderful for being so close to the beach.........  :-)  Just love to hear them..........just been around the past few years.  Love it.  Love

Off to do some stuff.

Ah I have made it back to the computer.

We had a massive weekend and it just seems to keep going!  We've had friends for dinner, football matches, friends for lunch and father's day!  but I wouldn't change it.  It was so good to catch up with people you haven't seen for a while.

Well done on the loss Nan.  Lovely to visit the grandchildren isn't it!  Ours lives with us but we are still amazed by her!

KM WOW you have been busy.  Where does all that energy come from?  "I'll have what you're having" Yes  All the little ones around you too, puppies, calves etc.  You would feel like spring is sprung.  Good luck with them all.

I look forward to hearing how it all goes

You sound busy Jill, hope all that entertaining isn't messing with your weight loss plans too much.

Just found out we are Dog sitting again this weekend, three extras for the puppy to play with. S
he should be nice a tired by the end of the weekend.

How did dog sitting go?  I just imagine all those legs :bigeyes:running around.

One observation I had over the weekend was how hard it is to stop eating when you are full.... I was trying to be very aware of not eating just for the sake of eating.

The other is apparently if someone else makes the food I find it really hard to leave any on my plate as they have gone to so much trouble.

Any hints for those would be great.

Aside from that we got stuck into the garden ready to put seeds in.  It was as windy as anything and we ended up with mulch up our noses and chasing all the wrappings and ties everywhere. We were laughing.   Don't you just love those days. Yes

Dogs are going today, so it will nice to get back to normal.

We only have 1 ewe left to ram, and Daisy is looking like she may calve in the next week, that will be the end of our babies for the year, so things can settle after that.

Jill we all battle that, a couple of things that can help. First try and look at the meal as part of a whole, what you eat around it can make a difference.

Look at the plate and decide before you start what you are going to leave. For me it would bread and potatoes because I don't really like those things anyway. If it is served up for you and you feel you must eat some, just eat half and tell your host/hostess that you are leaving room for desert.

If it is a buffet style, just don't put it all on your plate, and leave the table as soon as you politely can so you are not tempted to pick. Oh and potato chips are not food, if you don't start it is easy.

Hey there....here I am.  Jill, I know that is hard.......if the food is served up to you, perhaps best to have a quiet word with the host/ess and ask for less of the things that are problematic....it is all skills we learn and then forget I'm afraid!  KM has it right for a buffet style meal.  If we don't tell friends we are on a plan then we are in for troubles I think.

I am my own worst enemy and I know it so I am working on it!   Yes

Cheers!

New girl is called Gemma and she is still at the adorable stage. Won't be long before she is at the teenage stage and we will be wondering why we did this.

We are windy and showery here so not a lot of fun outside. I have been a good girl and have started making christmas gifts, so that will be a couple out of the way for later. I have to fit it in while puppy is sleeping, but as she still sleeps a lot I am managing it.

WOW KM  chrissy pressies already that's amazing!  I lay in bed this morning thinking it won't be long before I have to make a Christmas cake.......then went, got another month and a half yet.

We are having beautiful spring days here, absolutely wonderful.  Planting this week end.  That and watching the rugby.

My son is over in London and seems to have run out of money and is having trouble getting a job.  I am finding this so hard to get my head around.  He rang the other night and I had no idea what to say to him.  We can send him some money but not heaps.  Anybody else had to deal with this stuff.

I like christmas cake.  I love the soaking of the fruit and all the fat cherries, the way it 'plops' (that is the technical term my Mum taught me) into the tin.  And the smell when it is baking is wonderful.  I only have it at Christmas so I really enjoy it.

I couldn't beleive it the department stores have christmas in the isles.  Some days though I think "We need a little chrisrtmas, right this very minute"  because it's happy and wonderful things happen at Christmas....MAGICAL.  I am smiling as I think about it and after today that's a good thing.

Good things to you all
Cheers Jill
