I loathe exercise. Have the best of intentions everday, and the best of excuses. At the moment it is too dark in the morning, and therefore dangerous to go walking on our country roads with no footpaths Rip
I could get run over Laugh And then as the day progresses I just keep putting it off. So this morning I have resurrected the skipping rope from its deep dark dungeon and am heading out to do 1000 skips. Does that sound impressive????? Will let you know what the actual score is later.

What did you do today?????

Thumbs Down Well for a Mad Cow, I was full of the proverbial. Managed to do 200 and I was puffing like a train. (not an electric one Laugh ) Was definitely an appetite suppressant, may use that when hunger calls. Was too knackered to even think of eating. But the day is not over, so there is still time to do 1000. I didn't actually say I was going to do them all in one go..........did I ???

You must peed off about your trainer. Like being all dressed up and no where to go!

Ah skipping! It always sounds like such fun.

I went for my morning walk. Yes, it was cold. We're looking at changing it to 5.15pm for the winter months. I hope it doesn't get lost in the bustle of the day. Embarrassed

Hello girls,

Wow, life has been a bit hectic....so just a quick (as in Cheryl style) hello!  and another thanks a million to all you wonderful women!  I have been thinking so much about our time away and the lovely ladies that we met (and the few occasional men) although loin cloths were missing!!! haha..you girls really are awesome and my only regret is that I didn't get to spend more time with the rest of you...the ladies that I did spend time with were truly spectacular and went beyond my wildest expectations....all so special and lovely...thanks thanks thanks again.....and Hilli....I love you...please be lurking here somewhere!

Thought it would be a great idea to post under here, being inspire me and all...I have got the ipod all ready and running shoes on...about to go for my walk.....takes a while to switch between all the posts...so a good distraction, but I am raring to go...very determined (AGAIN) but this time I shall do it!  69.9 recurring....perhaps that should be my logon...gotta get round to changing that too...but just seem to have so many bits to do at the moment, and of course work was a tad hectic today, but I shall not sweat the small stuff....!!! Yeah right!

Speaking of inspired, I do honestly feel very inspired after meeting you all, and seeing our Icon Carolyn in the flesh (Brownie points???) but Carolyn, you are amazing....and I am going to do my best to do your wonderful diet justice....otherwise chuck me off this forum....as I was saying about being aggressive (assertive)...haha...

Okay confessional.....I weighed in at 74.8kgs yesterday morning!  But I have been soooooooooooo good yesterday and today! Went to a book fair and they had croissants to die for....and I bought one for Daniel...and NONE for me!!! Proud or what????  Feeling very determined and inspired, keep me honest girls, and none of the pussyfooting stuff....the goal is AS ALWAYS 69.9kgs (and then we can reassess!)....but that is it....I have decided to be 100% but break out a bit if we go out for a meal....Taken inspiration from Sue....not a chip to cross these lips cos those are definitely a downfall.....May even go and get my cholesterol tested again soon!  Cos when I did KK the last time, it dropped dramatically.....I was such a healthy little cherub!!  Still eat healthily...just too much and the KK did teach me some very good and longstanding habits....like mostly always having breakfast!

Perhaps I should start a new thread (but I dint know how to do that yet) will need more time.....PERSONAL

KG have you sorted problem with husband/son?  Let me know if you need any info...I have a great book called Growing good men and I shall happily pass on to you.....I have wonderful husband and lovely boys (my opinion of course!) but it was still really nice to read the book and see what you are doing right etc!
How is the puppy doing?

Tracey, sorry about the cross trainer...do you still have the treadmill?  Would you like me to send the happiness is an inside job on to you.....

Sue, hope all is going well.  Did the shoes fit Erin?

Scotty...did you have a great relaxing time away?  Hope so!!! I still have muscle spasms from all that running!!! Marathon woman and all!!

Better get to that treadmill now...I could just stay here all evening (anything not to exercise!)  Where are all the other ladies...?

Catch up soon.

Who knows Cheryl - they could be anywhere on this forum  :o Tongue

Glad to hear you sounding so motivated. I've had a really good day today as well and at this point my goal is about the same as yours.

Life here seems pretty quiet without you and Sue. We'll have to have a "finally reached our goal" get together  Drunk

Anyway, Coro's on so I'm off. Happy running  Yikes

Cheers

I'm here Wink

Just not sure where I should be posting my usual babble Wink

Everyone has inspired me since last Wednesday and I'm off tonight to class.  I have been quite good as I don't ever do perfect weeks (maybe one day I will).  Idea

Will let you know how I get on.

Confession for the week - exercise has been non existent.  Just haven't got there but will get there tomorrow night.

Have a lovely day - stay warm and dry Wink

OMG, I can't believe it is a whole week. Thank goodness it's not me weighing in tonight. Good luck for that Daisy (although we all know good luck has nothing to do with it, it's bl**dy hard work) The harder we work the luckier we are Angel

Hey Daisy I've only been for a couple of walks since my duathlon  Embarrassed and now I've got a bloody (am I allowed to say that?) great cross trainer inmy bedroom that is only good for hanging clothes on at the moment  :D I must get onto those service people. Good luck for tonight. We came to the conclusion at work yesterday that being good all week and then a bit slacker at the weekends can still produce results - a bit slower perhaps but that's not alwasy a bad thing. It is a lifestyle thing afterall. Mad Cow I must be the unluckiest person around based on your theory  :D :D

Hi there, know how you feel on the cold mornings, this a.m. was a doozy, raining, blowing, so out came my Middle Aged Spread Book and on with the ankle weights and dumb bells.  I get sick of doing the same stuff all the time so do the MAS exercises about once a week, walk twice a week, yoga once a week and little neighbourhood gym about twice a week.  I too loathe exercise, only thing I loathe more is the thought of getting old and creaky like so many I know!   Good luck and try some of Carolyn's exercises, they are really good and you can build up to them gradually at your own pace.
Just keep going!

Cool Hi Janey, welcome aboard. Sounds like you have it sorted. I have ankle and hand weights, so no excuses not to do the MASD exercises.............so watch this space. I did do some more skipping. No more (well actually it was one more Laugh) than yesterday. And have plans to do some time (sounds like a jail sentence Laugh) on the wind trainer tonight.

Ah! Congratulate me! I've just done 'the walk' by myself as my walking buddy miraculously couldn't make it. It's a long way on your own, as the sun goes down, in the chilly night air.  Roll Eyes

As for weights - I was just thinking about them the other day, and wondering if I should lug a couple of 420g cans with me for a bit of upper body strength development. Mostly because I read something very quickly about middle aged women needing weight training more than anyone.

I do hate saying I'm middle aged. It's worse than swearing, I tell you!

Yes Congratulations. You could always use the cans to biff at any untoward looking characters, and if you get really hungry you could always eat the contents on the way home............just make sure you're not taking cat food if that's the case. Laugh

Had come home with this reserve that I wanted to be more...............................JUST ME. But I'm not, sad to say I'm still the old me. Weeping
