Hi everybody,

I was starting to get a bit concerned....this place is just so quiet?????? What is happening?????? Cmon girls, lets do it for the KK team!!

I have recovered from the dentist! Physically if not financially....haha
Donated blood yesterday (Would that help me lose a half a kilo????)  Laugh :laugh:wishful thinking....

I am also looking forward to the weekend....and my MONDAY OFF!!!!!

Have been relatively good on the diet about 95% good and some of my off the rails moments are just extra nibbles, or a biscuit or two (at the blood bank)....feel justified  Angel Angel Angel and then of course licking the mixers when I do baking for the boys!!  But hell, a girl has gotta live!!

Tracey I hope that the electrical chaps :o :o are getting your house all sorted!! How is your daughter doing?  Better I hope!!!

I am really looking forward to hearing all of Sue's news!  I have really missed her....feels like she has been gone for ages...I do hope that she is having a wonderful time.

We have a quiet weekend planned, just busy with sport with the boys...time I got motivated to do some sport for myself!!  May go to a movie tomorrow....Sex in the city???? Not sure!

Anyway girls, have a lovely time....looking forward to hearing MORE from all of you...cmon I know that you are lurking out there!!! ADD something to these sites!!!

I am enjoying my recipe thingy!!!  Quite interesting...lots of recipes that I know and have tested, but a few new ones there...inspiration and my resolution is to try a NEW recipe every week or so!!!! Tongue Tongue

Take care, keep well and stay wonderful.

Cheerio

Hi everyone

Cheryl you sound like you doing really well - keep up the good work. And you too Daisy - you've had losses for a couple of weeks in a row now which is fantastic. I've been roped into doing the 10km run part of the Auckland Marathon in November so my training is starting today. I want to be a lot more prepared than I was for my duathlon  Big Eyes

Cheryl Miss MK is a lot better. Still a bit wheazy at times but getting there. I was talking to her teacher this morning about how easily distracted she is (which I witnessed in class myself the other day at the schools open day) She said to me that a "growly" approach with her wasn't the way to go and she needed praise. Oooowwww!! I was so annoyed  Furious. My daughter gets praised from the minute she wakes up to the last thing at night and loads of times in between. But when I've asked her a dozen times to do something (like homework!!) and she still hasn't then of course she gets a growling  Bomb Nothing worse than someone telling you how to parent your own child  Angry Anyway, Miss MK responds really well to reward systems so I will set something up (with her teacher unfortunately) to get her on track. She is a senior at school next year and needs to start buckling down before intermediate.

Master MK has been in the wars - broke his arm at school yesterday. Poor little guy was very woe begone when I got there but oh so brave  Love He's at home with me today and in much better spirits but as we've both been awake since about 2:00am I suspect an afternoon nap is on the cards.

We (now  Haha) have a quiet weekend planned which will be quite nice after such an eventful week. Did I mention how fabulous Priscilla was? Amazing show. I thoroughly recommend going if you get the chance. Hubby's nephews were over on Wed night. The youngest was flying back to Sydney the next day and hubby was up at 2.15am to take him to the airport. The older one - who had to drive up from Hamilton coz his brother had left his passport behind  Doh is a personal trainer and a P.E Teacher. I told him it was about time he helped his old aunt get fit so he is working on a program for me. I don't want to follow any of his nutritional guidelines though as they are of the limited carb variety - egg white and tuna omelettes for breakfast type thing  No His mother tried it for a while but couldn't sustain it. I wouldn't last a day  Frown

Okay that's it from me, have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Only 3 weeks fortunately but I'll have to change one of the days he's booked in for holiday program as they are going swimming. He has a longitudinal fracture which is quite unusual apparently. My response - of course it is! never anything straight forward with that boy  Haha

Hi girls,

Tickers look good...I am going to have to try and give it a bash (Bash being probably what it will end up being!!).

Wow Tracey, you sure have had a hectic time!!!! Bloody hell, I would say that a good quiet weekend will be just what is needed with lots of sleep and pampering all round!!!
Good on you for the marathon thing!!! Wow, makes me feel like such a lazy git! Really do need to get my exercise act together....and I have such good intentions...what is that saying...the road to hell is paved with good intentions or some such thing....

Anyway girls, have a great weekend all....we shall catch up soon.  I am missing the daily catch up with all the KK chickens....just in case they are watching I want them to know that they are missed....cmon girls, we can have the same thing going on here...we can stick to the chatterbox thread!!!

Cheerio, hoping to SEE  :o :o :o :o you all soon.

Morning

What a horrible day here in Auckland Sad.  Is everyone else getting the rain today?

Well done Woodpecker on putting your ticker on - lucky you only 5kgs to go.

I have been good for me re eating.  Yesterday was the worst day.  Visited a friend with a new baby and she had made homemade afghans.  I had one Angel.  Then went to my brothers to watch the rugby and we had fish and chips!!!!  Really enjoyed them but back on track today.

I think Mad Cow is back today - poor them coming home to this weather after having sun Sad

Hope you all keep dry and enjoy your Sunday.

talk soon

Hello everyone

I was out doing the groceries at 8.00 this morning. Went to one a bit further away than the 3 near me because it was underground parking  Laugh I love heavy rain when I'm snuggled in bed listening to it - not when I'm lugging grocery bags  Thumbs Down

Master MK has to have his cast changed on Friday to a fibreglass one. The specialist looked at his xrays and decided it was worse than first thought so he will need the cast on for a few weeks longer than they initially said. Poor little bloke  Awww He's in pretty good spirits although wants to snuggle me alot and is pretty tired (not sure why?).

My diet was going ok (and just ok miles away from great) but well and truly turned to custard Friday afternoon when my sleepless night caught up with me  Sad I was given a pedometer the other day as part fo the walking school bus pack. I'd forgotten how much of an impetus for exercise they can be. I get fairly close to the 10000 steps of a weekend just through incidental exercise but Mon to Thurs when I'm sitting at a desk for most of the day is quite different. Will have to work on that.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Cheers
Tracey

Hi all - sorry I have been missing in action for a while but now I'm baaaaaaaaack!! Have been very slack about healthy eating and exercise (and a bit ho-hum about life in general) the last few weeks so have decided to set myself some goals. Hopefully the willpower that showed up after being missing most of my life and got me to goal weight, has hung around so I can reach them.

1. Run a half-marathon  Eek Read Kerry Woodham's book 'From Fat Chick to Marathon Runner' recently which semi-inspired me. Am aiming to do the Auckland half marathon in October - am going to start a post tracking my progress over in the exercise section. Of course, this is assuming that my poor old body can last the distance!  mollyk - might see you at the finish line when you do your 10k!

2. Take part in a 40km cycle event round Lake Rotorua in November. This is a big thing for me as it is only in the last few years that I've been able to ride a bike - still can't take my hands off the handle bars to signal. Mr SD has bought me shoes that clip onto the pedals to increase pedalling efficiency but I'm terrified at the thought of being attached to the bike and falling over  Big Eyes Might just need to start off with one clippy and one ordinary shoe.

2. Revive my French. Did French at school to the first exam level (probably like NCEA 1) but was not a natural so dropped it and stuck to my beloved maths and physics (weirdo -eh?  Afro ) Want to go on a tour of Europe to celebrate my 50th in a couple of years so would like to speak the lingo in at least one country. Have signed up for a course at Akl University Continuing Education dept - 12 x 2 hour evening sessions. Starts on 14/7 - have bought my text book which includes chapters used for the beginner classes so will need to do some revision to make sure that I am not a beginner when I turn up in my intermediate class.

Anyway those are my plans - sorry for yabbering on but am hoping that putting these goals out here in cyberspace will give me a bit of incentive to reach them. Think am having a bit of a mid-life crisis - nearly 50 and what have I done with all those years - haven't even had to bring up a family!

Hope everyone is having fun and surviving this cold blast,
SD

MollyK - hope Master MK's arm is healing well and he is not driving you mad because he is frustrated or bored or itchy. Poor wee thing - but I suppose it's better now than during the summer when he'd be wanting to be in the water all the time.

Hi everyone

Scotty what a great idea setting goals like that - all the very best with achieving them. Master MK is doing ok with his arm. He had the cast changed on Monday and already has a lot better movement in his elbow (which is what he fractured). I had to stick a knitting needle down it last night as it was itchy - seemed to do the trick  Thumbs Up
He had a tummy bug Sunday and Monday - hence the tiredness on Sunday  Frown so the poor little bloke has had a bad week.

I've really been struggling the last few weeks on this diet thing. I really must make an effort to get to a class. I could do with a kick up the butt. Anyone here may feel free to do so.

Daisy I hope all goes well this evening. You seem to be doing well so keep up the good work  Wink

Cheers

Bonjour !!! (That's my French practice for today  Tongue)

Hope everyone is surviving the wild weather - I woke up at various times during the night with hailstones bouncing off the roof and very loud thunder and lightening. One of the flags on the harbour bridge was looking a bit tattered this morning - hope nothing more serious is damaged around any of you.

Was just going to write something about bookclub last night but will start a new thread in the Lounge as we might want to talk about or recommend books we have read.

At bookclub we talk about the book and don't really chat much but last night I found out that one of the girls is working towards doing the Akl half marathon too. She suggested that nearer the time we go out for some long runs together as it's a bit boring on your own and better motivation when someone else is involved. So there you go - I put my goals out there yesterday and something has happened already  I will need to get out there and pound the pavement - she is out there 3 times a week already and did a fun run on Sunday that I signed up for but wimped out of because of the rain  Awww

Au revoir,
SD (or Chien Ecossais in French!)

Good Morning everyone,
We have been off line for a few days, something to do with the weather. Have been feeling the same myself! Really struggling to get back to reality. Need to start planning our next holiday, they reckon the anticipation of a trip is half the enjoyment.
I am feeling so despondent. This morning have decided to use the 'fake till you make it' technique.
So with that in mind no more dreary talk.
I shall enjoy the wonderful vista that is our Mountain covered in snow. And soak up the refreshing environment. Wink
