Hey MC, some of the others on this board get busy too so it works both ways. Actually with two days of fine weather I have been trying find my fejoa trees which were under the under growth. Picture people hacking there way through the jungle. So now I am halfway down the row and I feel like I have just spent two days in the gym. The showers today are almost a relief, we don't need the rain but gives am an excuse to be lazy I must say though I have worked so hard that I am looking forward to weighin on monday except I first have to get through my birthday tomorrow. Must not eat too much cake - actually now that I think about it hubby will probably not even bother to get me one so might not be a problem after all

hI THERE, Well I thought my posts the other day just scared everyone away when I said I put on 1.5!!!! Felt quite guilty that I shattered all your illusions... However I am happy to report that I have been EXCELLENT since Monday. And, I must say, when "you do the diet" you feel so jolly good. I like the food, I like the way I feel in control, I feel slimmer (yeh sounds weird, but it does, bloated stomach doesn't stick out so far I don't think from the rubbish)! I have also stuck to a lot of chicken and fish, which I know I don't have to but there seemed to be a lot of restricted proteins around in the last few weeks with Mum coming and cooking roasts and stews and things!!
Anyway, I have been logging in and thought you'd all vanished. Welcome back. Home made fish and chips for dinner tonight. Also on the weekend I am going to make that banana loaf/cake or a slice to freeze to eat next week for my afternoon snack.
Back to work.... Oh, exercise this week. Had the grandson twice and I walked teh stroller around the lounge for 15 minutes both times so surely that must count for something!!
Keep up all your hard work

Ah well, now that the sharks are out of the pool, I'll get back in. Had a big whinge yesterday to my DH. We came out of the movies having seen Mamma Mia (I need to live in the Greek Islands) to a freezing cold, pre-frost winter evening. Not impressed at all, even though I was trying to be happy about the frost because it means sunshine, doesn't it? Am so over winter. In exactly four weeks I will turn 40 years old. Anyone got any good ideas for celebrating? I thought a trip to, um, maybe, the Greek Islands, might be a go-er but apparently it is not. I have this awful feeling that DH is going to buy me new underwear but that's not a present for me! That just turns me into a present for him! I'm not a party person... but somehow I'd like to use it as an occasion to honour my Dad (as it's Father's Day) while at the same time also having a cake. I'll listen to anyone. Hope you're all being good, feeling happy, etc etc.

Sorry guys - I have been away. Had 4 days in Wellington. Only one day of rain, one really, really cold and the rest lovely to see the sun. It's my birthday today so having a day of being very spoilt. (I hope!!) I lost 1.6kg last week, was very excited but now having been away and staying in a hotel (i.e not cooking any meals) I'm not sure I have lost the 1.6kg. Although we did lots of walking and didn't have too many coffee and cake stops. Going to lunch today with friends and then dinner out with my family. Started the day with my cereal as it would have been so easy to have gone off track. I have probably missed Cheryl - she was going on holiday I think - if you do read this - have a fabulous time. KG - I went on a cruise for my 40th birthday. and then had a "girls" lunch in a cafe when I got back. Take care - enjoy the sunshine

Hi Daisy, WELL DONE on the 1.6 loss, that's awesome. Hope you enjoyed your time away. AND A GREAT BIG HUGE "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" Seems like birthdays going on round ll over the place.
KG, laughed out loud at 'underwear present' being for your hubby, not you.........How true is that!!!! They are all the same. I'm sure.
What ever you do for your birthday, you enjoy it. I was at my 'fat stage' for my fortieth, and refused to do absolutely anything to celebrate it. I disliked myself so much! Now can't wait for my fiftieth (well I can actually) Will celebrate in style. I quite like the sound of a cruise. Could be cool.
I was down 800grms this morning, so now at 72.5, seems to be taking forever...........but I WILL get there............again!
And Linda, no one would ever run away, re your 1.5kg gain post. We have all had days like that. Just keep up the good work. We will get there!
And my 'I am busy' post was tongue in cheek, being more compared to ME not being busy, than you lovely ladies that are always busy

Hey everyone, nice to see you all alive and kicking and enjoying the sunshine. I would like to report that I am really looking forward to weighing in tonight as I have been probably the most most excellent I have been on "the diet" for a very very long time! I will lose that 1.5 I am sure (well okay, I should but I know I have had an excellent week so know the loss will be good - otherwsie the scales are wrong!) You all sound like you doing great. My 40th, what a distant memory. Had my 51st this year and went to Perth for it. Missed mykids though.

Good on you Lynda for having such a good week. At least you can feel good despite whatever might or moght not happen at weighin.
Here I am stuck inside again because it is raining again. I am so over rain, everything is so soggy outside we really need to dry out a bit.

I got up at 5.50am, got dressed in the dark (as you do) and headed out the door. All the time, I was thinking I could hear rain but didn't really interpret it that well. Not until it landed on my head, anyway. I fled back to bed. I'm fed up with the rain too. Consulted my wardrobe very carefully this morning because I feel so unmotivated and weak when it rains, compared to how I feel when the sun shines. I knew if I wore anything daggy or baggy, that would be the end of me before the day even started. I have two meetings today, both of which happen over food and/or coffee.... Plus lots of running about doing errands. Probably good that I'm out and about instead of mooching about here. On a happy, upbeat note, I think I can feel a gap in my jeans just below my bum cheeks.

Yay for gaps Mud is everywhere here I am so sick of it. I think we need a happy topic to cheer us up. Ok so what foods are you hanging out for summer to eat? By that I mean things that you look forward to eat only in summer.

Hmm yes strawberries, also fresh asparagus, the only problem I have getting from the garden to the kitchen, it tends to disappear before it gets there Actually anything fresh from the garden or orchard as summer is the main harvesting season. We have been having lots of roasts and casseroles over the winter, so pork chops and steaks will go down well over the summer and not heat the kitchen.
