I hope this isn't inappropriate and I apologise to anyone that may be offended but I just wanted to say how deeply saddened I was to hear about the poor wee girl in Mt Maunganui who was killed by a truck this morning. My deepest sympathies to her family.

As I trotted along on my evening walk, I quietly fumed to myself about buses and trucks. There have been far too many deaths recently where they knock out a pedestrian or a cyclist and claim no knowledge. Can't be blamed on the roads all the time, surely.
