It's hotting up here now, Summer's really on it's way! I am committing to a 4-5km walk every day early morning but find it's much more manageable if I go at a normal walking pace, rather than try to be the fastest. Sounds like common-sense I know, but I'm always tempted to try to keep up with those much younger at my expense. I still think I'm in my 30's & sometimes even try to keep up with the joggers when I'm walking!! I now have time to smell the flowers on the way and relax my shoulders & neck muscles while I walk. And even have energy to do the housework when I get home!! ;D PS: Have been really good today - the 'no wine' idea is helping I think.

Good for you AM. Judging by your photos you have the most gorgeous scenery for your walks - that must help you to get out and about. My brand spanking new cross trainer that I bought to encourage me to exercise when it's cold and/or rainy isn't working and as it's a long weekend no service guy until next week. Luckily the weather is still nice...

Well. I've just realised I'm turning into an old hag. Even though I walk 6-8 km 5 days a week, our overnight tramp up to the Pinnacles nearly killed me. To the point that my darling life-saving 12-year-old son was being the encourager while I tried desperately to look like I wasn't going to keel over. (I'd like to add at this point that it was the last five minutes out that nearly did me in!) The reason re the old hag comment above, is that the last time I did this, I backpacked an 11-month old, was pregnant with our second child, and had no issues at all. Maybe time has coloured my memories different. I collected our dog from my walking partner last night and she had the cheek to ask me if we were walking this morning. Good grief! Absolutely not! Although, I have to reluctantly concede that walking might be more comfortable for my groaning thighs than sitting. :o

Ha ha! Join the club, KG! The huffing & puffing up the hills doesn't really seem to get any easier, does it? A good memory is just a faint memory now, I have to write lists all the time, and would be lost without my diary. Husband no help at all. And it's no point yelling from one end of the house to the other, either. Hilarious at times! Especially talking to oneself while doing the housework. You have to see the funny side of it. Yes, we are getting old (one reason dieting is difficult) and a very good reason to make today the best day you can. Don't beat yourself up, it's a waste of precious time! Taking it easy today, did my walk yesterday morning, and forgot that it was feast day of St.Thomas (yes, of Canterbury, his relics are there, this is the land of the Knights Templar) in Montedinove; so we walked there & back again as no parking for cars, so did 10 km in total. And it was HOT. Deep fried calamari & hot roast porchetta, YUM! :o But I gave the cake stall a very wide berth.
Come back, Hilli!!! Ciao, a tutti

Have just seen KG's comments calling herself an old hag - no way - when I met you last week what struck me was how slim, youthful and vibrant you are. (And no, I don't you!) You might feel different to how you used to be but you are a long way off old hag-dom Are you giving any clues to your dream job yet?? (Have been infected by Woodpecker's nosiness )

You guys are madder than anything I've ever met. I haven't gone into hiding, and I haven't heard dicky-boo about the new job, but that's no surprise cos I've been praying ever since I sent in my CV that I wouldn't get it (yeah, I'm mad too!). Okay, I'm not an old hag, but my DH called me middle-aged this morning. It's all very well for me to call myself middle-aged, but he'd better not try it again. ??? Oh, and thank you for your kind comments. You are very generous.

Yes! I didn't get the job!!!!! Yay!!!!!! The reason I do want a job is so I don't go potty at home, and so I'm making a contribution to the coffers. The reason I don't want a job is because I want to write three novels. ;D I know, most writers do both, but I figure that being a mum is a full-time job, and spitting out a novel is a full-time something..... so why add more working hours to my life? So, again, I say yippeeeeee!!!!!!
