Have a good sleep.

I have just spent all morning trying to find a leak in a water pipe and failed. Still at least I know around about where the leak is so can go from there.

Great you bypassed the gelato.  It will be worth it I am sure!

Ciao Carolyn & everybody,
Yesterday was the first day of Autumn here, and we thoroughly enjoyed our trek in the mountains - we went to a place called Gola Infernaccio (or Hell's Gorge) not far from us here. The entrance is quite narrow only a few metres across at the narrowest point, with an elegant statue of Our Lady set high up in the rock-face.
The path follows the river Tenna up to it's mountain source through bright green beech trees and chestnut woodlands with just a hint of autumn golds and yellows.
Clouds of pretty butterflies escorted us, the forest floor scattered with pale lilac crocus flowers and tiny pink cyclamens.
During the winter it's all covered in snow and ice, and we found a little refuge for those caught out by bad weather. It had a very basic bed, cooking utensils, clothing, some food and a fireplace.
There are beautiful meadows up high where we saw a herd of lovely white Italian cows with big black eyes who came to watch us having our picnic lunch. Husband found a bush of sweet wild blackberries to munch on.
It took about 4 hours there and back, a wonderful day.
A dark thunderstorm & some silvery rain greeted us just as we arrived back at the car - just in time.

Then home tired to a nice hot cup of coffee & biscotti.
Hope you like the slideshow.
Love from Annamaria xxx

What a beautiful mountain side. It must have been truely enjoyable to walk along beside that stream, and wade through all those fallen leaves.

Beautiful scenery

Gee thanks, Kiwismum! Smile It reminded us a lot of the Routeburn track near Queenstown, but nowhere as strenuous!
Did you get that water leak fixed?

Sort of, it is on a temporary fix for the time being, but will have to be done properly before summer hits.

It is on the list of things to do when the rain stops and the ground dries out. I know quite a few people in different places around the county and they are all telling me that they have had several days with dry, sunny weather. What Ever We on the other hand are still having heavy rainfalls everyday. There is a limit to what you can do when you are knee deep in mud.  Crazy

On the up side I have to walk right down the back everyday to check on it, so more exercise for me. Yesterday I made the dog come with me and he was not impressed at wading through the mud (he doesn't like getting his feet wet), he also slept for the rest of the day, and was up keeping us awake last night Angry

Annamarie your trek sounded lovely. I couldnt see the pictures, will have to check from the kids laptop as there are quite a few things blocked from work here.  Where are you again in Italy? I was just wondering if I'd been near it on our travels through there. Probably not, but I would like to check it!!

Water leaks are a pain KM aren't they?  Our tank blocked last week and its such a hassle to fix it. The only good thing was that once the block was fixed it emptied our top tank and the men in the house went and cleaned all the sludge out of the tank!  Glad I wasn't home to watch! They are going to do the gutterings this weekend.

Am back on track with programme but still not feeling great.  Oh well, tomorrows another day.

Did you watch Jamie's programme last night?  I found it extremely interesting.  Has made me think today as I eat!!!

Yvonne, are you okay????

Yes I did watch Jamies program. Nothing new in it for me but hubby(the junk food king) said that although he will still eat the junk he will give it a half a thought before he eats it now.

I have also been telling him for years not to inhale his food, and after watching that last night, I think he will chew more now, so all good.

It amazes me what some people eat. I had to wonder about the vegeterian who would not eat vegetables. Have to wonder how he survived on just carbs.

Hope yourecover fully soon, daughter came down with a cold yesterday, first in a couple of years, so she is moping around now feelig sorry for herself. Yesterday her throat was sore so she didn't want to talk. Amazing how quiet it was around here Smile

Hi everyone,
Just dropping by to read some mesages and do a quick catch up.  Have taken advantage of this weeks fine weather and spent all spare time weeding and digging..slowly getting on top of all the weeds that managed to grow despite the wet weather.  Not really on track at present but hoping some physical work will balance things out.
Water leak sounded a pain kiwismum...how are you Lynda?  hope you are getting over that bug.  In for a busy week coming up here with an extra dog coming to stay so may not be on line for a while..bye for now

Good morning Kissers in NZ!
Here's my positive post for today....

"Look ahead, toward the place you most want to be. The more you look, the faster you'll move forward."

Had a biggish lunch out today, so a meagre dinner tonight. A little empty in the tum, but I'm sure I'll sleep well.
Have a great day down under...Ni-ni!

Oh KM - I feel sorry for your daughter if her throat is as sore as mine has been.  It has been really bad!!!  This bug is one of those ones that you think you are over and it jolly well comes back, but not much jolly about it!!!

Yvonne I think I am getting there but could have done without Dylan (grndson) wanting to play with me between midnight and 230ish last night!!!  His runny nose and chesty sound has started again too!

Was out for lunch today - had a blt.  Dinner last night did the sweet and sour chicken bake but put in pork for a change. It was yum!!
Mum is cooking roast lamb for dinner which is a treat for me has hubby hates it so I never buy it.

Have a great night

How is your daughter tonight kiwismum?  Poor thing..do sympathise with the sore throat... Sad
Oh my goodness, early play time sessions I could do without lynda Smile  The cold I had was sore throat (which went reasonably quickly) but the snuffles and chesty feeling lingered for days and days.....next year shall dose myself with echinecea zinc etc before winter...
Made the chicken cashew stirfry dish tonight and it was HOT!  Having a glass of cold beer as I write this to cool down Smile  I even reduced the ginger and chilli but was still a bit hot for me..second time I have made it,, too bad I forgot to put the cashews on top..found them when I went to do the dishes..
Been a good day here weatherwise, have finished digging over the main flower garden, must have taken close to five hours so that should have used up some calories...
I love roast lamb..with mint sauce gravy, roast veg...not something we seem to have these days. think its the price of the lamb that puts me off Smile  I remember when a leg of lamb (or hogget) did a roast meal, a cold meal, rissoles, lunches...
Hope everyones having a good evening,
Yvonne
