Hi All, Haven't posted here for a while - have been in that doom and gloom mode that is going around on here. Was trying to 'Fake It Till You Make It' as was discussed elsewhere on here and posted some goals last week - running a half marathon; learning French. So far have done nothing on these apart from spending money on books and a cheap warm top. I promise to report back soon with some progress that doesn't involve shopping!! Anyway, someone (can't remember who, sorry) said we will never get anywhere unless we are POSITIVE about ourselves so I'm starting this post so we can write (if we want to) anything positive that has made us feel good. We get so hung up on lost weight being the only positive thing worth posting that we forget all the other small triumphs every day Anyway, I'll start: I didn't visit the snack box at work today Have become a very regular (3 times a day!!) visitor there over the last few weeks and can feel my trousers getting tight (and my wallet getting empty) so it is great to know that I CAN resist it! And I'll resist it again tomorrow!! Gotta rush - hope everyone is well out there in KISSland - especially Daisy with her flu. Hope you got to go home and SD xox

Well the thing that is keeping on track and not wanting to mess up right now is Carolyn herself.
Ever since I signed up for the online program, she has kept in constant contact with me, so whereas I started this a way to be accountable with my weightloss, I now feel like I have made a new friend.
Not being able to go to the meetings could make it hard t stay on track, but I don't feel even the slightest desire to fall off the wagon, and I suspect that some of that is because I don't want to let carolyn down.
Dumb I know, but it is working for me right now.

Yes, it's great to have Carolyn on the other end of the keyboard, isn't it? Here's what I found about positive thoughts. I really believe it. Ever noticed how one negative person can seriously affect a previously happy tea-room at work?? Thoughts have great power, they are like seeds you plant in your mind.
The more you hold onto a particular thought, the more power you invest in it. Positive thoughts give us energy and strength. Negative thoughts rob us of power and make us feel tired and strained.
We are by nature positive. Negativity is the result of faulty thinking. You can change if you want to. You can't control other people, situation or circumstances, but you can control what is going on inside you. It takes time to change and transform those old patterns of thinking.
Be patient with yourself. It starts with a thought.....http://www.thoughtfortoday.org.uk/

My positive thing for the day is that I've printed out the weekly planner and I've put some thought into how I'm going to re-lose the 3kg that I've gained (time to stop NOW!) and build up my iron stores. Had some routine bloods done and the iron was checked as an aside and there's practically nothing there! That's pretty good for before 8.30am, eh?

Hi everyone, Great POSITIVE outlook there. Long may it continue for all of us. I said that I had started my "New midyear resolutions" on 1 July and I have been on total programme now since midnight 30 June/1 July. Wow, thats a record for some time now!!
Also, I watched that programme about "sex after marriage' the other day and I did find it interesting but one of the things I used to do was the affirmations!
So, I am back to that - I am getting slimmer and eating only healthy options at all times. I am slim, trim and attractive. Re programming my sub-conscious!
Have a great rest of the day. Oh for the record, Carolyn always seems to be on my shoulder at every mouthful!!!
Lynda

Don't forget that the weekly planner, personal profile, etc is all available on one of Carolyn's other websites for anyone to download, print out and use. They look much better in colour! Just go to http://www.carolyngibson.com/ and click on the "Planners" link.

I watched that program too Lynda. She was gorgeous - hard to imagine that she just couldn't see it. I'm a huge believer in affirmations and know first hand how powerful thoughts are. I suffer from anxiety (although almost tempted to say I used to...) and know that the best way through is changing your thoughts to positive ones. I've been reading that book You Can Heal your Life by Louise Hay (been around for years) and that is full of affirmations for just about any situation imaginable (almost ). She is a metaphysicist (I think therefore I am) and it's powerful stuff.

Louise Hay's books are brilliant. I used them years ago when I had some difficult times. Once we realise we actually have a choice of thoughts, it's a lot simpler. Someone told me once to check that very first thought we have lying in bed with our eyes closed in the morning....is it positive or negative? If it's negative...CHANGE IT!! Put on a smile, and then get up & start the day. Put your worries down on a piece of paper, and deal with them one by one. I'm down on my scales since Monday & really looking forward to my first real Kiss weigh-in next Monday......Exciting!! Husband is doing Kiss too, as he had a bad week in London at the Car Show eating junk. I AM proud of him. Hope the weather isn't too bad downunder, is it snowing down south yet?

Positive post for today: I drove past Jester's without stopping, even though they were calling my name!
This positive post must take into account the fact that last Friday I drove all the way TO a Jester's for the simple purpose of getting a pie, even though I'd already eaten the house, so to speak. ;D

Wow, you ladies are all being so positive, its just great. Glad you all doing so well. I must be behind the times, I didn't even know what Jesters was!
I have read Louisa Hay books (am glad you told me what a metaphysist was) and a couple of others tht were full of Affirmations. I am saying mine in the car, when I am brushing my teeth and ... and....
I have weighin tonight so am looking forward to see how the scales show. I know I have had a pretty good week so am expecting to be down!
Its been a pretty positive weekend for me. My husband and daughter that haven't spoken for 3 years finally met on Saturday and had a talk!!! Then she came to lunch yesterday and they spoke to each. So that was pretty cool. Long may it continue or I may just have to resign from the family!!! Nah, not really I love them all and although I had removed myself from the "no talk" it played on me terribly as you can imagine. It was diabolical having them in the same room!! It will continue. It will continue to work well. It will get better and better.
Have a healthy afternoon and night. You all look slimmer trimmer and more attractive! Lynda

Hello you positive lot Lynda that's fantastic news about your family speaking again. I come from a family that "doesn't speak" and although this time it is me that has chosen to remove myself from my siblings, I have been "piggy in the middle" when they weren't speaking and it's not pleasant. I imagine it must be alot worse being caught between your husband and daughter. I hope things continue to improve between them. Well my positive thing was surviving the builder this weekend Hubby was away in Wellington for the footy and left me to it In his defense the builder was due last weekend but got chicken pox and even if he had felt ok I didn't want him around Master Mk who hasn't had chicken pox. Didn't feel like managing a poxy boy in a cast Anyway he didn't get the job finished on Sat and left a hole in the ceiling exposing the roof in my daughters and my bedroom - IT WAS FREEZING!!!! I dragged the kids mattresses into the lounge, electric blankets and all and we camped out in there. Me on the couch and the heat pump going. It was pretty cool actually and the kids thought it was great fun. hell of a night weather-wise and I did wonder a couple of times if the windows were going to stand up the the hail ok - they did. I had a meeting with the Deputy Principal of Miss MK's school on Friday which went really well. An apology was given and things were sorted so I'm pleased I "did my bun" the other day and didn't just "let it go" . And final positive thing for me is I just went on the cross trainer for half an hour - man that thing can get cause a sweat! Happy KISSing MK

Good on you Annamarie, 1 kg is still 1 kg, isn't it fun to see you hippo move, pity he doesn't get skinnier in the picture as he moves. 1 kg is also a good loss in one week so happy happy happy. :D I have a big family stress coming up at the end of this week, so I have to resist all the stress eating so that I don't undo the work I have done so far. The weather looks to be nice today, so I might just have to take out my frustration in the garden
