Right. I'm going to start my very own thread, which anyone can talk in if they want to, but I just need ONE place to whinge, mutter, and generally talk to myself as I WORK on losing the 4kgs that have come upon me.
So. Today is a new day. Actually, this is a new moment. I started the day very well, then lost the plot, only due to this dastardly cold weather. I think I've eaten everything I'm allowed to eat for the remainder of the day already and it's just gone 2pm.
I shall not despair. But on this day I have recorded in my diary my weight and I AM GOING TO LOSE 4kg by, let me see, August 10. And if I have not achieved this goal, I shall sign up to get a baby hippo from Carolyn. Promise.
My soul craves a chocolate anything. But I shall not succumb. I shall clean my teeth and then I shall go for a walk to the library.

It is a pity that Carolyn cannot sell us motivation and commitment as a combined package.

Hey Kiwigirl, How's it going today. Its a brilliant sunny cold morning here in Auckland. We all struggle I know I have many moments of struggling and wish I could say something profound to stop you (and me) just having that stuff we shouldnt.
Sometimes when I am shopping I think of Carolyn's words one day "If you buy it, you know that at some stage someone is going to eat it...." Hmmm, when I do buy it "for the others" guess who is that eats it...
So now, I do avoid shopping when I am hungry and it does make a huge difference and I avoid those aisles if I can.
But I am sure I speak for us all when I say - well all know what you are feeling and doing as we have all done it before!!! So don't knock yourself about. I could lose 4 kilos by then too. Lost 500 this week so I can make a pact that we will both lose that and then get one of those walking animals across our pages!!!! Lets do it.
I do have to agree with Annamarie - Carolyn does "sell" the commitment and motivation as a package - its just whether we chose to do them hand in hand!!!! I don't know if you go to a class or are on line, but she is always "there" when you need her which is a huge commitment from Carolyn for us ladies.
Have an awesome healthy eating day.
Lynda

Right. I am up and dressed. I am not wearing baggy, daggy, trackies.... My hair is done and I've cleaned the kitchen and the shower. Manic.
Except I'm not really. I cleaned the shower while I was in it. I cleaned the kitchen cos it just needs to be done SO OFTEN! Boy, if we didn't have to eat, our lives would be so much different.
I have been craving a hangi. I think I've discovered a place where I can have one - not today, though - so I'm going to do some investigations and invite some friends.... today, I'll arrange my eating so that I can eat a nice bit of plum pudding. Funnily enough, I'm not too fussed about the eating of it; it's the long, slow cooking that I'm more interested in.
Frost here is nearly an inch thick on our new recycling bin. But the sun is shining, and soon my house will be filled with noisy children, so all is well with my world.
BTW, from experience, I've never found commitment and motivation buyable. It's a head space thing, and since I've got a tiny weeny scrap of head space available, I'm stuffing it full with commitment and motivation.
I wonder if I'll find my MASD book somewhere today. The loss of it is driving me insane! I was at Pakuranga yesterday and wished I'd known what time Carolyn's class was so I could whip in and buy another copy. Surely I didn't share my bible with someone else???

Ooooh, look. I went for a walk with the kids, then hung out the washing and just now had my morning tea, high in iron, even! I can do this!

I am soooooo hanging out for 4pm!
(Can you guys all see why I needed my own thread? Talking to myself is the only thing that gets me through the hard days..... But, I have to say, I'm being very, very good. Big gold star for me so far. Then again, that 4-6pm thing is pretty tough to get through, eh?)

I swear to you, Daisy, that if/when I fall off the rails, I will have the temper tantrum to end all tantrums and you will HEAR it. You will NOT need to wait until you check the boards, ha ha.
Toast was yummy. Now, on to make the soup before I get all picky again. It's potato and leek.... without cream...

Another new day. Seems a waste of words to say that, cos it's nothing new!
I'm going to be in and out for a lot of today so will need to take food with me so I don't lose the plot when I get home.... but I've started good with a plate of porridge. If anyone knows, could you tell me if I can have anything else besides porridge for breakfast, like a bit of fruit???
I bought some of that shower witch so have sprayed the showers already and am waiting with bated breath to see how well it works. If it works, the only downside will be that I don't get such a good workout cleaning the showers..... but I can live with that.
Okay, off I go. Promise I won't spend so much time whinging today!
