Hi, know not many people check in on the weekend, but if you are out there, I need some ideas for dessert tonight.
Am having a dinner party (?) for 'The other mother' Smile and really want to do KK. Having a roast so that's real easy to take my allowances from. Roast pumpkin and parsnips with red onions. But want a KK dessert to feed six people. Has anyone tried that stickydate pudding?  What's it like? Any other ideas. I don't have any filo pastry or gingernuts in the house and won't be going to town.

HELP!!!!!!!!

We've just had chocolate mousse on a generous serve of peaches.

What about mini mereinges (sp?) with fruit and yoghurt (or cream for those not kissing). Good luck and enjoy your evening. Is it with the MIL to be?

This may be too late but the brandy snap baskets are really nice.

You can fill with fruit and yoghurt for you, and fruit and cream for anyone else who wants it.

I had them last night and they were very easy to make and very tasty

I had thought about giving them a go, but put them in the too hard basket (or too easy to muck up) but if you insist they are easy, I will give them ago next time Smile
We ended up just having a banana cake thingy with custard and yoghurt. Was okay.

Yes they are very easy.

I just draped them over an upsidedown silicone muffin tin. I hate cooking muffins in the silicone pan, but I use it for all sorts of other things ;D

And whats more they can be made in advance and save you time on the day. I will certainly do them again as I love brandy snaps and these were very nice.

Is there a kiss recipe for them? I know I should just look through the books but it can get a bit overwhelming and it makes me think about food too much  Laugh

oops - lost my post

Sorry this is too late for your dinner MC - but I made the lemon yoghurt cake today to take to my cousins.  It was really nice and would be nice straight out of the oven with custard as a dessert.

I also made the Jamacian loaf yesterday.  I have cut into allowances and put in the freezer.

I know it is too late but I have made many times for a dessert to take the crumble with the lemon in it.  I just use tinned apples and throw in frozen raspberries and then put the crumble on and it is a huge hit!!!!  Personally, I am more a fancy sweets person but I have to say this is delicious.  Also the Birthday cake is just scrumptious!!!

All there for next time now.  Crumble is so quick!!

Which book is this recipe in? I don't remember seeing one with lemon in it. Sounds yummy.

Not sure if it is in a book but we did it in a class maybe last year or even year before.  I will get it and let you know.  Its fairly basic but the lemon just adds to it!!!
