Hello there.
I have to report, (and I feel a bit like I'm being extremely self centred and bragging here) however,
THE DIET WORKS.....
but I did do the diet for 7 continupis days for ABSOLUTELY 24 hours each day, including the correct portion sizes and goodness gracious, guess what

I LOST 2.6 KILOS THIS WEEK.
 Cool Cool Cool

THE DIET IS FANTASTIC AND REALLY WORKS.
BUT I DO CONSIDER IT AS A LIFETIME EATING PLAN AND NOT NECESSARILY A DIET!!!!!

Wow what a great result Yes Yes Yes

Isn't it good when the weight just falls off like that.

And now you have to tell us how easy it was and what great food you can eat. Smile

Well done Lynda!   Smile  You have done really well.  Yes you are right - it is not a diet, but a change of eating plan, and it is for life.

I have been on the programme for a while and so far have lost 28 kilos, still have a wee way to go, but, it all takes time.

Carolyn's recipes are great, and we use them most evening meals!

Well done, and keep it up.
Happy.

Welcome aboard Happy and well done to you too - 28kgs is a tremendous achievement - you must feel very proud.

I think you women who seem to be doing well should post a food diary so we can see what you're doing (only if you want to of course Ok) I'm still struggling - nothing new there  Embarrassed

Keep up the good work ladies - you are both a great inspiration  Yes

Thank you all for the great support and feed back.  I do find the forum helps a great deal.

My day starts always with an egg scrambled in the microwave for 25 seconds.  Slice of thin vogels and vegemite.  Earlgrey/breakfast tea mixed.

Morning tea is just a coffee but I froth the milk so it tastes better.  Only have one coffee a day but that is my choice as not a great coffee drinker - wish I liked those coffees out but they are too strong for me.

I would have also usually had 2 - 3 glasses of water by this time.

Lunch, especially this last week was chicken and peach balsamic casserole (actually stirfry in the book but cook as casserole, much nicer) and usually rice, but sometimes noodles or a baked potato in the microwave.
My other option this week as I have wanted to have a good loss has been a little tin of salmon with rice crackers.  Quite nice for a change and I think I had them twice.

Dinners were

Chicken and peach casserole one night (so I could have it for lunch the other days)
Chicken with the yoghurt, peanut butter and sweet chilli sauce cooked in oven.
Southern fried chicken
HOme made fish and chips one night.
Curried sausages and rice one night (eaten in the bathroom on the run as I had my grandson there and no-one else home so ate and played while he was in the bath!!!)
Home made pizza with pita bread with chicken and pineapple.
Piece chicken schnitzel one night.

Veges I had roast pumpkin a few nights and roast potatoes too but not every night as was trying to do at least 3 carb free nights.

I bought some dried apricots as my emergency afternoon sweet thing at work.
I had a slice of vogels when I walked in the door from work at 5.10 - 4 nights so I didn't pick.
I had a few little bananas on board for early afternoon snacks.
I had mango as a treat
I made KISS ginger crunch and Lemony date slice and froze it and had it for planned snacks afternoon or after dinner.

I drank water
I drank raspberry tea
I drank boiled water with lemon.

I went for one ten minute walk until some idiot with a huge dog attacked my jack russel, so went home again.

But, I planned and was prepared.
As you may have noticed I did have virtually no restricted protein this week - I don't miss red meat so thats no hassle for me though I do like it occasionally.  But mum had been around a lot the last 3 weeks and was cooking roasts and stuff like that and then veges in cheese sauce etc, so I culled them completely.

It was an excellent week and as I was focused and determined it was a great week and in all honesty I made sure I had my planned snacks and didn't forego them because "oh, I'm not actually hungry now".  Having them kept me level I believe.

So, don't know if this is any help, but I hope so.

I am still on my food plan - 24/7.  I lost 27 kilos when I first joined without a gain, however I put most of that back on. I did it once, I can do it again.   And lets face it, its not always that hard to stick to - its just saying "No" and moving on, mind I admit I haven't done that much lately, but I am prepared to work at it again.

Good luck and thank you all again - you have been awesome with your support.

Hey HAPPY - that 28kgs is awesome, you stick to it.  That is a totally fantastic achievement.  Be extremely proud and dress for success

Yes Angel  Queen

Well done Lynda, awesome achievement, you may have just inspired me to get off my butt and do some butt kicking dieting. Have been good and not so good. Haven't done ANY exercise since my marathon Laugh Laugh, has been too wet. I know that's no excuse, but I am the lazy one, so will take any excuse I can get. My problem at the moment is after tea, I am so tired and still have stuff to do, and I just seem to be hunting for something to eat all the time Hungry. If I go to bed to early I am up way before I need to be which is early enough at the moment, and very soon will be getting earlier and earlier.  I try to be really organised, and usually am, but do have lapses. I think I need to look into more of the Low GI type foods, something that will last a long time in my belly!!!!!! If all else fails, I think I need to save my pennies so I can join up with the weigh in on-line programme. I didn't come this far to be pipped at the post. No Way

Thats great Lynda, it is always good to see what works for others.

I have lost every week I have been on the plan. OK sometimes only a little but still not a gain.

My aim is to make this a normal an eating plan as I can so that when I reach my goal I don't even feel like there will be a "go off the diet" stage, but will just keep on eating as I have. I also don't want to eat salads in the middle of winter, so KK lets me eat seasonally, which is a bonus.

I normally have something with egg for breakfast - poached with toast, fried with bacon and hash brown, made into french toast - get the picture

I don't have the morning tea as it just does not work for me.

Lunch - Well that could be anything, yesterday I made the vegetable bake with the sour cream sauce, the day before just a toasted sandwich. Sometimes it might be left overs from the night before. I really just look through the books and find something I feel like.

I have the early afternoon fruit and later vege soup for the late afternoon snack.

Dinner - well tonight we are having a roast lamb, I will have a roasted kumera, pumpkin and a green vege and some gravy and mint sauce. After I slice the roast I do weigh my meat to be sure I get it right. Last night it was a fish pie. Again what ever takes my fancy, but it is how much of each that makes all the difference.

I am not a big desert eater, but have been having something since I started this plan, tonight will probably be berries and yoghurt, but I have had all sorts of things usually involving a fruit, including fruit pies and crumbles with ice cream.

The key for me seems to be to watch how much of each thing I eat. Also I find the online plan where I log my food each day is a hugh help. I know that Carolyn is going to read it so I do stop and think before I put anything into my mouth. It also helps that her recipes are so good, and I can use whatever I have at hand.

Now my day does not look anything like yours Lynda, but the both seem to be working, so I guess we all have to find our own balance.

MC I have been "searching" after dinne too and that is why I made the slices.  They are very small carb servings and more daily indulgences and fat.  They did help me.  Or I have some tinned fruit about 8ish.  We don't seem to be eating till 7ish so that sort of gets me through.  Ironing always distracts me.  Actually I am a big pepsi max fan so I sometimes have that too. What about fruit and yoghurt or something like that after dinner.  Yeh, I know it isn't what we would have once chosen, but I guess it depends what we want more!

KM your plan is like mine when I am not working all the time.  I often used to make myself pita pizzas for lunch, or toasted they are nice too.  I have always used Carolyns recipes and it was never the actual meals, except maybe some of the sizes, but the "snacks" that weren't really on programme.  Last weekend I was determined just to stick to my routine for the week as I just needed to have a really good loss.  but normally on the weekend I would have french toast for breakfast,   maybe make lasagne for lunch (and extra for week lunches) and things like that.  I love pasta and mince meals so the spag bol bake is often on the normally weekly plan.  I browse the recipes and there are a few I love - Potato and leek pie is a good weekend one too (and leftover).

I think the key to all of it is portion size!!  But its great to read what you have. Jogs my memories of some of those old favourites!

Keep up the great work.

Thanks Lynda,  the four kilos that has crept on this year just has to go!!  Perhaps I can give it away?  No?   Tease  Oh well....its not so much lack of exercise (though this weather makes it more difficult) its the wrong choice of food (and drink Cheers)....starting next Saturday after I do the fornightly shop will try and eat KK (have planned the menus)...and weather permitting up the exercise...and try and restrict husband into cooking only healthy on the weekend and not the fudge etc he amused himself with this weekend!!  Really hard when the rest of the family is not the least bit interested in healthier eating.. Irked
Okay rant over..off to do some vigorous vacuuming!
Do hope others are enjoying some sunshine today and no rain...

Now Yvonne, I am not one to talk as I did wonderfully and got to goal but I blew it - big time.  But one of the words of wisdom I can offer, which I TRY and do is try and make the next food I choose "programme" food and try not to wait till after the party on Friday or after the shopping next weekend.
I am not preaching but I guess I don't want you to follow my mistakes but maybe try and learn from them!  My words are said as encouragement, that is all!!!  What you do with them is up to you.

I had my Mums 75th and my grandsons 1st birthday on Saturday and really I did pretty well throughout it but somehow the left over birthday cakes (not one, but two cakes) ended back at my house.  I even went to so muchtrouble to make sure the chocolate gateau was left behind at the venue but mum had bought a "back up" in case one wasn't enough and she left it at ours yesterday afternoon!!!
Oh I love her but boy that is so annoying!!!  I am throwing it in the compost bin tonight along with the rest of the grandsons madeira.
So, I hope you have a good night.  I usually weigh tonight but have a splitting headache so may tuck myself up at home when I get there.
Have  a great night - and any words of wisdom you have to offer - please feel free!!!!

Your words of wisdom are appreciated Lynda Smile   As I only shop once a fortnight I will modify this weeks meals to suit..no skin on my drumsticks tonight!  Will be cutting out all cakes biscuits etc and replacing morning tea with a piece of fruit but afternoon tea will be 2 weight watchers chocolate chip cookies..not really KK but works for me..shall dust off the pedometer tomorrow (my best friend when losing weight along with a good set of kitchen scales)...
Took me a couple of years to slowly get down to my 58 kilos of  last summer so there is no way I am going to keep adding to the four ks gained!!
Two birthdays on one day!  Thats a bit unfair but I guess you got them both over with in one hit.  Cake in the compost..not sure I could be that strong Smile but good on you!  Thats great will power.
Do hope the headache goes away fast, nothing more wretched than a bad headache.   Hope you are feeling better, Yvonne
