Just [printed off the feta sweetcorn and zucchini fritter recipe but I see it needs half a cup of soda water...any ideas what I could substitute? Dont want to buy a bottle just to get half a cup...or even a can for that matter..no one here drinks soda water...

I don't actually know the answer, but if you have something like a soda stream then just carbonate the water and use that.

I seem to recall when we made them in class that if you don't have it, just use water. The sparkling just makes them a bit fluffier!!!
That's my story and am sticking to it!!! as my memory isn't what it used to be am sure that was what was said!!!!

Lemonade, thats a good idea..a can of that would be used up..plain old water seems a good idea too
Wonder how ginger ale would go down? thanks for that...
Couldnt find anything in the article on 'substitutions' that I have here..

Just a quick thing on this. As I am sure it was just for fluffiness you could use water/milk and beat the egg whites, if they haven't been already!!!
