Well I popped outside before lunch with the intention of  doing half an hour weeding in the garden.

First off, I had to decide which weedfilled garden to tackle? Decided today was the day to do an ornamental garden, not something I normally do but they are now more weeds than plants so it was well past time.

Now to digress a bit. Last year I went to Christchurch to check out some of the rare breeds chicken places down there. One of the places we went to the guy there grew old roses as well as chickens, and my friend fell in love with one particular one. I told her that I was pretty sure that I had one in my garden, albeit a bit sickly and covered with weeds.

Well, back to my story, I started to weed away and wouldn't you know it, that particular rose has taken it upon itself not only to grow, but to multiply. I have lots of little plants of it popping up all around the main plant. If I ever get my other gardens sorted I will be able to transplant them and enjoy them in more places.

After a while little miss fussy came out asking for a cookie, so I knowing that it was getting close to lunch time I suggested she have lunch instead. I came in a short time later and it was almost one o'clock. I was sure it was only just after 11.00am when I went out there!

What happened to those two hours. Oh and the garden is only half finished, there are a lot of weeds.

Anyway I also feel like I have had a bit of a workout so that is good too. Just had a BLAT with everything either homemade or home grown except the tomato and mustard. I love eating out of the garden.
