I haven't been here for a while, but hopefully that will change now.

Anyway I hope you all had a good new year and christmas. If you were anything like me you would have avoided anything that refered to weight and are now paying the price for it. But hope it was still a good one.

We have a lovely relaxing christmas day, Yes followed by the family thing on boxing day, so I ended up with the full christmas dinner two days in a row. Tongue But we did have a very quiet new year this year to make up for it.

Off to a wedding this afternoon and having established that all my favourite wedding type clothes still don't fit me well enough to not feel tight, No Way I am back on the plan as of yesterday. Did get a new dress out of it for today though.

Anyway, now that the new year has started, perhaps we could get this board back up and running. Yes

Hi kiwismum.

Great to hear from you again.  Smile   Must admit I have been 'off board' as well, just dropping in to see any change in recipes.  Sad

Our Xmas was quiet, peaceful, just immediate family so enjoyable and not the stressful event I was dreading.  I have certainly eaten more than my share of chocolate and had a few drinks that I really did not need..but to balance things out have been busy in the gardens keeping on top of weeds, putting in new plants and trying to get in that daily walk so hopefully the overall damage wont be too bad. Roll Eyes
Hope all is well with your family two and four legged...and that you enjoy the wedding you are off too...looking forward to more correspondence, would be nice if a few more people joined us this year. Smile

Wishing all a happy, healthy and safe New Year,
Yvonne

It will be good to chat to you again throughout the year Yvonne, how are all those dogs doing.

The wedding last night was very good, they chose a very simplistic decor and it worked very well. The bride giggled all the way through the ceremony to the point that at one point it had to be stopped while she got herself under control.

Food was good and nice small servings, so not too much over eating there. I managed to not have any of the bread, but did have desert and three glasses of wine, but the rest of the time was just water. And of course we did some dancing so maybe that off set some of the food.

We got home very late so have slept in this morning, so I have only just had breakfast, and now I have to rush around and do the morning chores and go and get the little one from my cousin who had her for the night.

All in all it was a lovely night, and we had a good time.

It sounds as though the wedding was a very happy one, glad to hear you enjoyed yourself and the food challenge worked out well.  I am sure the dancing would have used up those calories.

Touch wood all dogs are fine at present even the older ones.  Had a small concern with Charlie (heart problems) when it looked as though he might repeat the fits he had last summer but so far one problem a couple of months ago and he seems to be doing well.  What this year will bring for my old guys I dont know Sad

Lovely day today so off now to energetically vacuum up the dust bunnies Sad then off outside to pot up a plant (much prefer to be outside) Smile
There seems to be quite a few members on this site now so hope some of them will join us to share stories, challenges, recipes etc.
