Yvonne I have been having the  two slices of bread and having open sandwiches too before I got the paninis. I find if I eat it with a knife and fork it seems so much more.
Still hunting the potato and leek pie. Have asked Carolyn too so heres hoping someone will have it.
Getting cooler here and the leaves in the trees are just starting to change so I guess that is the end of summer here on the farm  Cry .
Still I can look forward to soups etc with winter.

I always do open sandwiches and eat them with a knife and fork - eat slower and you feel so much fuller.  Do my pizza like that too and th boys think I am crazy.
Don't want to go to weighin tonight, but I have to or I will just continue!!!  Oh well, I did the crime I have to do the time - couple extra weeks to goal!!!  Didn't want any gains on my new card!  Oh well, shall report tomorrow arvo (getting my hair done tomorrow morning - thats the only reason I didn't get that top!)

Have a great night. Tongue

Well done on your good loss PB, bet Caroline was very happy with that one.

Anyone out there tried the moussaka with a parmesan crust in the all seasons cookbook?

Welcome back KM. Have missed your chat on here. Sorry haven't tried the moussaka.

Lynda how did weigh in go? I gather you are lucky enough to go to Carolines classes. I get to watch the videos now. Some relate some don't  Smile but that is to be expected. I did note that I can have cottage cheese as a milk which I hadn't picked up. So I could have that in my sandwhich on those days when my morning is super busy. Mmm pita pizza loved those haven't had them this time around. Last time I got pita bread down here it was revolting and that has put me off a bit. Used to use it all the time.

I am determined if I am paying this much for doing the diet it had better work and I had better stick to it. Hubby was not overly impressed with the cost but I really do need it to keep me going at this stage anyway. So I am being so good (most of the time  Wink ) just not when the biscuits are left beside me when I am feeling "titchy"  Laugh .

Had potato with my meal last night the first time in ages and wondered why I had bothered. It sat heavy in the tum and I didn't even enjoy it. So wont bother again in a hurry.

Wow, its been a hot one here today!  Stayed on track yesterday and no problems so far today Smile  Bathed and blow dried a dog this morning and managed a walk after lunch so will make the ten thousand steps okay on the pedometer..should be outside doing something now but...

In the MASD book you will find curried sausages as well Pamela...did pork loin chops with a breadcrumb topping last night..not a KK recipe but still one that fitted into the plan..drumsticks tonight using a kk recipe...

Good to hear paninis come in different sizes Smile  Well done on your loss!!  Thats a really good one, big pat on the back coming your way Smile

And yes I am an open sandwich eater with knife and fork as well, takes a wee bit longer and you think you are eating more Cool

Lynda, how did the weigh on go?  Hope I havent missed any messages been having a little problem with the forum filling in properly...its the cost that puts me off joining up for the last few kilos, Pamela, but I think that does help keep you on track..sometimes Smile

Trees here are shedding their leaves as well, already started raking them up, early this morning when I got up all the surrounding hills where shrouded in fog..winter and soup is certainly on its way...

Well drat, I hoped you'd all forget I had to weigh in last night.  Okay, confession up 1.3 which I am not at all happy with, but have to take the consequences of being "titchy" and eating my way through it.  However, back on track totally and my aim is to make that 1.3 extremely transient!  I know if I stick to programme it can be gone mostly by next week.

I dont recall the cottage cheese being a dairy as well - probably not the same quantity though?  Must read my book.  I take it out often and go through for inspiration for different things.
Also, the potato thing, I have cut back on them totally and don't realy miss them but just love them when I do have them (well as a rule).  However, I miss the texture I think so often substitute it for pumpkin.  I will also sometimes throw in a kumara.  Dylan loves kumara and pumpkin which is good.  He doesn't seem so keen on potato though.  We will have the fettucini and salmon tomorrow night with mascarpone again - he loves it!!

It is hot here today.  Had my hair done - I never know how much my hairdresser is going to charge and today it was the same cost as that blouse I wanted!!!  Oh well, the price of looking beautiful (well better than before withmessy hair anyway!!)  I like it just a bit longer and have been wearing it quite a bit longer later but she snuck those scissors in there.  Everyone else likes it (not my mum though - she still thinks I should have long golden locks down to my butt as I did until I was about 19 - haha)

Well okay, confession over.  Please don't be nice to me when you reply - as Carolyn would say "You need a slapping!"  oH pAMELA, I love the classes - we get a lot of exercise laughing a some of the things she tells us!

Have a good night

Glad someone had sunshine today. It has been bleak and windy all day. I had put wahsing through last night so had washing out. Just went and got it in. It is dry but will have to air it in front of the fire later.
I have soup ingredients on the list for Fridays shop.  Yes Was quiet warm last night but mist and low cloud here too this morning and the cloud never lifted. I don't mind if it is cold on Thursday as I have no power all day  Angry and I could rev up the fire and cook on that if need be. Hubby has a meeting all day in town so no problem for him  Wink . Will do a hunt through the books for something more interesting than grill sausages. See what takes my fancy.

Lynda just checked out the cottage cheese and its 4 tablespoons, so thats not bad. Sorry to hear that you had a gain. I am sure that the classes are more fun in person than on the video. The picture and the sound are out of sinc and it is a bit off putting at times. I usually listen while clearing emails. Better not to watch. You can't hear what the class say just Carolyn.
Ouch with the hairdresser mine charges $24 for shampoo, cut and blowdry. The joys of small town living.
I admit I have pumpkin instead of potato and perhaps that helps. I dry roast it in the mini oven.
Well I am about to go light the fire and try and get warm. Will make a cuppa while I am at it.

Oh I hate Wed morning. Have been up for 3 hours and at work for nearly 2!!!  Well at the building. I get here and make breakfast, read and try and wake up.  Mynephew had breakfast with me this morning.  I can't believe how he sat there and had 2 eggs, bacon, chips, sausage and toast and then a V drink!!!  No wonder he has fruit for the rest of the day!!! I can do without all that food staring at me across the table at 6.40 am - disgusting!!

Got through the night. Enjoyed dancing with the stars but just needed to sneak off to bed.

Its another beautiful day today here in Auckland though I have my jacket onin the office here as this office is so damn cold in summer and I have on a top, a cardy and a jacket and in winter I have to wear a summer top or melt!!!!

Oh well, off to do some work.  Have a great day.

Hi all, thought it was about time I checked in and started giving you more support again.

Lynda, consider this as your slap  Troll Maybe you should stick it on a picture of yourself and send it to your mum on baking day  Laugh

Pamela, you sound like you are doing great, and for sausages the banger, beans and mash in the KK in the kitchen is really easy and very tasty. Great to have another voice in cyberland.

Yvonne where have you been girl, reading through the messages while I have been gone I see you have been MIA as well.

Well while we are on confessions, I haven't lost anything since last time I mentioned it. I gain some and then lost it again, putting things back to where I was. Embarrassed. I had a VERY bad day yesterday as I had to say goodbye to our very old horse Sad The vet was late so it prolonged the whole event, but other than that both the vet and the digger driver were very respectful and caring through the whole thing. The up shot was that all my afternoon snacks consisted of rum and coke. On the upside hubby offer to get f&c for dinner but I cooked carolyns moussaka and it was very good. Even both the fussies liked it so now it is on the make again list.

It is harvest season here,so I have been busy bottling apples for Mr Fussies favourite dessert over winter. Still have a few plums on the trees and I need to get the apples finished as the pears are about to start too.

You sound like your weather has completely packed up, PB are you really lighting you fire already. We are getting a shower of rain everyday, but it is still quite warm here, although a bit windy today. Hubby is having a work at home day today, and miss fussy want sausages and rice tonight so will make the curried sausages.

Its funny that I found it hardest to stay on plan in the summer. I love all the lovely casseroles and things in the books, so I should be able to lose the last little bit this winter, that will make me happy. Apart from yesterday I have been really good this week, and I know I can do it. I loved being on the online plan, and if it wasn't for it being so expensive, would go back on, Carolyn is great at keeping us on track. Anyway I have dragged out all my books again so will eat out of them again now that it is no longer to hot to go into the kitchen.

Well it sounds as though everyone is off to a good start this morning. Sun shining here today so I am shoving another load of washing through as I wont be tomorrow with no power  No Way .
Yes have the fire going most nights now and even during the day if it is cold enough. We didn't make double digits on Saturday. Typical South Island high country roast in the summer then freeze through the winter. there is very little inbetween.
Made the devilled sausages last night and they were so yummy definitely a make again.
Still no news on the leek and potato pie. Strange that it doesn't seem to be in any of the books.

Hi everyone, my goodness you have been a chatty lot since I last checked in Laugh   Kiwismum, great to have you back on line, yes I did go awol for a few weeks but back now and on track.  Am so sorry to hear about the horse, I do know just how upsetting and painful it is to put down an animal....I would have been having the rum and cokes as well Sad

1.3 Lynda, ouch..never mind, its going to be all downhill from now on..weight wise that is...your weekend away is behind you so full steam ahead!  Lets lose it and not find it again!

Must admit I do like my potato, specially these lovely spuds straight from the garden at present, I generally have one a night..or kumera..my problem eating is  weekends when my husband likes to cook...just have to try and balance out the week days to match the weekends..if that makes sense...

$24 for a haircut for me..no wash, no blowdry, just a cut and shake Smile  Would love to have something special done but the cost is off putting Sad

After a thunder storm yesterday evening its another hot and sunny one here today, just finished putting away todays washing so off for a walk ...

Did you find your pedometer Lynda?  Am managing to get over the ten thous mark each this week but wouldnt achieve it if I didnt get out and walk...would be much less...nuff rambling bye for now

Oh I wish I could go walking again.  Sad . Maybe eventually my knee will come right enough to look at them again. I tried the exercycle but my knee wouldn't tolerate it so had to give that up.  Cry Have been managing to use the strider and spend a fair bit of time on that.
Tomorrow home alone with no power will be a bit of a challenge for me. No computer to distract me from the thought of food that I shouldn't eat. Oh well will get crafting and hope that I am occupied enough to not be tempted. Have cooked an extra slice of bacon and boiled and egg for my lunch tomorrow. Bacon and egg sandwich for me.
Lunch out on Friday with the girlfriends. Yumm we are trying a new place 'The Argosy' it is a cafe with a huge plane. Hope the food is nice as this one was my suggestion. We will put everything in the world to rights and have lots of laughs which is all that really matters. I LOVE my Friday get togethers.
Will try and touch base tomorrow when the power comes on.
Weigh in tomorrow  Roll Eyes Heres hoping its ok.

Well PB I think you are looking at it the wrong way.

If the power is off you cannot cook, so can only eat what you have planned. What a good way to stay on track.

We have our homeschool playgroup today so have to avoid all the cookies. I had deliberately stopped baking because I was having trouble eating them - as in couldn't seem to stop myself - but then hubby started buying so that was just as bad. I have a problem with paying such big money on biscuits as they are so expensive, have hardly any in the packet, and have nutritional value at all. At least if I bake them I no they are filled with lots of good stuff and no artifical stuff.

I made little apple crumbles in ramakins yesterday with a rolled oat topping. I like these because they double as a desert or a breakfast. Might make the Apple Galette today, will have to see how we go.

I am not a fan of potato so it is easy for me to skip it, however last year we grew Chipawa potatoes and hubby made them into to most wonderful homemade chips (yes they are deep fried), and this year we added sembagos to the mix which is the perfect roasting potato. Other than that mashed is the only way I would even bother with potato. Now kumara on the other hand...yum. Up here in kumara country we are getting the fresh new season ones already and they are so good. I am the only one in the house that will eat them so get to have the whole lot for myself. Spent $5.00 on a bag in the weekend and got a hugh big bag of fresh dug. I am a very happy camper.
