Has anyone cooked the Casserole of Lamb with Herb Dumplings?  I notice the recipe calls for lamb leg steaks and cooks for a total of 1 1/2 hours.
I wondered how the steaks turned out...I can understand long cooking with leg chops but havent cooked lamb steaks for so long.
thanks if you can reply  Smile

That sounds nice I love lamb.

I don't think I have made it, what book is it in? However I suspect that if you made it in the crockpot it would be fine. Luckily lamb is one meat that is a bit more forgiving with the cooking.

Let me know how it turns out.

I am hunting for Carolines recipe for leek and potato pie. Was talking to friend about being back on KISS in the supermarket and a lady turns round and says she did it when in Auckland and still makes the leek and potato pie all the time as she loves it. She said it was a class recipe. Help can anyone supply this.

Hi Pamela, had a look for the recipe but no ;luck...seem to have accumulated lots but not that one..what where the ingredients other than leek and potato?
Does it have a sauce?  Perhaps you could make an approximate replica?  Hopefully someone will have it for you, its the sort of dish that would go down here (not with my daughter though).
Tried the mustard mayo kumera salad last night and that was well received...

The Weigh In Online Recipe Archive has a recipe for "Salmon Leek Potato Pie".  Is this the one you're after?

Hiya, the leek and potatoe pie I mentioned the other day is an older one and I think it is in one of the books but was a class recipe and it has apples in it too - with a cheese sauce.  Thats why I mentioned it - I have leeks and apples ready for cooking!  It has filo too.  You might have to ask Carolyn.

Am away from computer till Monday.  Hope you all have a good weekend.

Thank you. I think Lyndas is the one I want. She said it was vegetarian. So obviously not the salmon one.
But I will go check that one out too. I did look through all the books and couldn't find it. I might just be missing it who knows. Not totally sure what it might be under of course.

Hi Pamela, perhaps you could adapt a filo flan recipe and use the ingredients you want?  Hope you do find it as it sounds very nice.   Going to try something different here tonight potato and pumpkin with a cheese sauce and sprinkled with a crumb and walnut mix, not KK but it is low fat....add some chicken pieces cooked with lemon and garlic and that will be dinner...husband cooks weekends so out the window goes any ideas of sticking to low far eating  Sad
Have a two year olds birthday party to go to tomorrow so another temptation....always looks a bit 'odd' when you refuse too many of the food offerings...
