Cold shower, lots of water and keep the air moving as much as possible.

Cook in the crockpot rather than the oven.

Oh and don't run around a paddock chasing animals after the morning shower cos you just have to have another one anyway.

Actually if I thought I could get away with no clothes I probably would, but I think others would complain about it.

But seriously I think hydration and air movement are the only options unless you have a giant dehumidifier.

I like the idea of making my own iceblocks.

Does anyone have any ideas on what to put in them to make them more interesting?

Oh, not sure what i would put in the ice cubes, but frozen grapes are delicious - almost like a frozen sorbet.
Maybe lemon juice in the iceblocks, even oj

Perhaps not the healthiest option but frozen diet coke ice cubes floating in a cold glass of coke goes down well....

Humidity? What is that? We have been cooking down here with just straight heat. (Blenheim). We take the temps here at the farm for the met service and it was 35 in the nice shady cool little box the temp gauge lives in at 10am. It gets a nice wee breeze through it so you can imagine what it was like everywhere else. But I have to admit to resorting to iceblocks. I found a sugar free drink mix at the supermarket that you can put into your drink bottles and I made up iceblocks with that. I like the lemonade flavour. Very refeshing. The catch here at the farm is that we get temps up to 39 in shade and then we border on a frost overnight.

Actually I just thought of another idea or two  Wink . I have a fan going at the foot of the bed overnight when it is really hot and muggy here. It really helps.
I love to make frappe`s. I use 1/2 cup of milk, a whole tray of ice cubes, 1 tsp coffee, 1 tsp milo and sweetner to taste, sugar or what ever, Once you have made one you know how sweet you like it. Then just blitz the lot in a blender, whizz or use a stick blender (my choice less washing up) until the ice is pulverised and then drink in a tall glass with a straw. Absolute heaven.
These are really expensive to buy in the malls and at fancy cafes.

Hi, with the frappe you can use all coffee or all milo/chocolate if you wish. I happen to like the mix. Satisfies the sugar cravings wonderfully. Great for brain freeze if you suck too quickly  Laugh
